It's nice, however... I agree with what Gins said. Besides that, i think the beach could use a little work. It looks like you just slapped in some sand, beaches just look, different. I'll think about this for a bit but it's hard to explain. Oh and personally, i'd add an area to the map that is something else than 'just buildings'. Something like a church (cliche) but then not a church. Something that players will recognise. It's easier to get to know a map when everything is not just buildings and it's good for immersion. I'm really looking forward to the final, this could become featured artist material indeed but it just needs a little work imo.

    Quote from Captain P

It could use some work where the wood and the leaves meet each other. That looks too simple right now. Other than that, I think it's fine.

Other than that and the overly large skin for the leaves.

Also, this might be helpful. The main difference is that in reality, there's branches coming out of the top, not just leaves, and the 'texture' is different at the top.

When sketching, this technique often gives some nice results. When you look at a human being, at the outlines, some outlines are really light (you'll see like a white edge). The other outlines consist of shadows. Hard to explain but you'll probably get it. Draw the lighter outlines with a really thin line, and the other ones much thicker. If you do it right it gives a nice 3D effect, try it.

Haile Gebrselassie almost ran a new record on the Marathon today. There was a wonderful final in Badminton in the Dutch open today, best play ever. (Out of all sports, badminton has to be the most elegant). Athletes still have meaning but you have to be open for it.

The first one looks a bit cartoony, but i love the style and everything. Awesome texture.

Please make the water anything but this greenish color. My eyes are trying to evacuate from my scull since i saw it. The rest of the map still looks great and i agree with adding water as well

I really like the first and last, especially the first. Great use of over-exposure hehe. The others are just, well, not interesting. Not in subject or in composition.

Same here. It's a shame. I surely would have played NW, installed HL1 again.

I love the church tower! About the red spot, i would remove it and turn it into a decal.

Well in this case the camera certainly isn't a weakness and in my most humble opinion, it's not something that should piss you off either. The weaknesses might just give the picture character.

Skjalg, dig up the pics that showed Hipshots textures. The shapes of the rocks was great as well, you might learn a thing or 2 from it (especially the 2nd pic of each texture in that thread)

There's no need to apologise for the 'bad quality' of the camera or anything, it's a wonderful photo, very balanced, i really like it.
