I do play WH40K a couple of times a year. Used to play more back in the day. Still have a lot of unpainted stuff lurking somewhere.

Other board games we play on a more regular basis:

- Bang!

- Talisman

- Dominion

- Carcassonne

- Grass

Would recommend any of these if you have a group of people and haven't tried them.

When seeing this part of the trailer I was pretty excited thinking "Yes! They're finally doing it right!".

I need to rewatch The Pacific, only watched that series once when it was being shown on TV was pretty good but its hard to beat BoB. Mighty Eigth, their next series will be out at somepoint hopefully soon as well! Looking forward to that will be nice to see things from an airforce perspective.

Only watched The Pacific series once. I think the characters and their development in BoB is what makes it so much better.

Didn't know HBO was making another ww2 mini series, sounds promising.

I've been playing Wasteland 2 recently. I feel like overall it's a good experience but it's kind of inconsistent in some parts.

One example would be Ag Center which is quite early in the game. I almost quit playing the game because of how boring and repetitive that part was.

Turn based squad combat for hours and hours without any real story progression isn't really what I was looking forward to. After dealing with that shit, the story actually

got more interesting and you didn't have to fight every single dude you encounter. Still I'd rather play the original Fallout with a new storyline (plz someone already make this).

Watched The Imitation Game recently. Good movie with excellent acting, I got a feeling Cumberbatch is getting an oscar for this one.

I think it's been atleast 4 years since I posted anything on Mapcore. I've been lurking anonymously from time to time.

Here's a short summary of what I've been doing.

So back in 2010, I decided game development was stupid and there would be no chance of me ever working on games.

I got a boring job as a software engineer in the IT-industry since I thought it would be a low risk well paying career choice.

Worked on +10 different projects in roughly 4 years, became a functioning alcoholic, partied a lot, did a lot of travelling and

was generally having a great time.

Last year I noticed my drinking habit was getting out of hand. Stopped drinking, realized I hated my job.

Saved enough money to quit and start my own company making games.

Finally working full time on a game for the past 2 months. I don't think I've ever been so happy

I read the script last year when it was leaked to teh internets. It's an excellent story, not very historically correct though .

The teaser is about as ridiculous as I expect the actual movie to be.

Yeah pretty much redeemed. He seems like a nice guy and I understand why he was so crazy that day, he simply takes his work really seriously.

Christian Bale is still a cool guy, I like actors who are really dedicated to the character they're playing. Heath Ledger was one of them .

To understand this thread you guys need to play Rara Racer.

I played the beta and to be honest it was a HUGE dissapointment. It felt like playing a dumbed down Company of Heroes,

but with no building micromanagement, slow gameplay and a HUD that made me want to rage.

DoW 2 was one of the games I was really looking forward to in 2009, not anymore .

Thanks a lot Pomperi, some excellent tips. As you already noticed, the dirty one was made basicly by slapping some grunge brushes on top of the clean one.

I do appriciate the paint-over, it gives me some ideas how to improve it .

Didn't know you were in the Decadence team (I'm making this for a Decadence contributor/custom map).

Is there any good tutorials you can point me at on creating rust/dirty surfaces?

It plugs into the floor, it's the top of a tank with coolant water for a reactor.

Nothing like in a real nuclear reactor, but the player has to be able to jump in so that's why I made it like that.

Yeah I can see insta's portfolio has definitely had some influence on this .

You haven't got a lot of stuff there but the stuff you have looks good.

PS. I'd fix the wireframe render on the lighthouse.
