Looks almost like a photo

Is that realtime?

My vote goes for 3d studio max, didn't take long to learn the basics.
I've been using it now for ~month and it's been great. The internet is packed with 3dsmax tutorials (I guess the same applies to Maya).

The Wii controller seemed to be pretty awesome. Red Steel didn't impress me at all. Using the katana especially looked kind of awkward, but I'm sure it's just an early demo.

Great model, good to see it's finally done.
ps. I see a thousand geeks using this in gmod making porn.

I really don't care what Jack Thompson does anymore, how can anyone even take him seriously, he is the definition of ridiculous.

a quote from the black guy in Lethal Weapon:
"Tom is getting too old for this shit"
Still it was suprisingly good.

Next gen games look spectacular, seems like you put the
Splinter Cell into Rainbow Six. I seriously hope it doesn't go more into the arcade direction. Upto Raven Shield I was a big fan of Rainbow Six,
Lockdown just wasn't RB6

I like number 6 the best
looks dumb & funny -
When I saw the first video of Spore (6 months ago?), I was really impressed. Now the effect is much milder, I wonder when it will actually be released. Spore is certainly not the e3 highlight game.
ps. No DNF at E3 2006? Why am I not suprised

Connery for the win, however this new bond does have potential.
Looks like a tough sob.

Can't see much to be honest

csharp you win the best grammar award.
Quote from D3adsIt doesn't look much different from HL1DM

Looks exactly like hl1dm, I don't see why people want to "remake" old games, maps etc.
Is it because it's easier to sharpen the textures and copy the whole thing onto a new engine, than it is to create something new and innovative.
I guess from a nostalgic point of view it's nice to see some old stuff brought back to life.
So here's my point:
I will cry if 10 years from now, people are still creating half-assed remakes
of de_dust.

this is just ridiculous
I wonder if I make a 3rd party program for GTA that replaces guns with lollipops and blood with ice cream, they will change the age limit for it.
Shouldn't it work both ways?

Fantastic work, looks nothing like c17 which is quite rare in the field of hl2 mapping. Custom content looks good, also I love that dojo map.
You've really got rid of the generic hl2 mood.

So far in my history of playing FPS games, Half-Life 2 may have had the best singleplayer mode ever, still not going to buy the episodes

Quote from JamesL
It's my experience that a lot of external producers (external to your company - i.e. the publisher's producer) are frustrated designers and very much want to direct and control the content of games they are involved with.
Nowerdays the only way you are going to get the kind of creative control you talk about is (as Freichamp says) to be CEO or I guess, to fund your own dev studio.
I sadly agree. The games industry has become more like the movie industry.
Dev Teams come up with ideas and the publishers pick up the ones they think are profitable.
It's obviously a bigger financial risk to publish game about killer pancakes with motorsaws etc. than a ww2 fps game.
That's what limits the creativity of the developers.
I think in the future networks such as Steam will offer a breakthrough chance for small game dev companies that have new and original ideas (take Darwinia for example).
Not nearly as much funds are required to release a game via Steam, and it will be available for anyone with an internet connection.
