No but he gets way too much attention. Hes just one of many many street artists after all.

Not a fan his. Way too overhyped pop phenomenon. The Brittney Spears of fine art.
Someone had the same problem here: http://%7boption%7d
But his solution doesnt help me at all since there are no conflicting vbsp files.
Never happend to me (spent around 120 hrs in the game). Maybe its a heat issue? Isnt it like summer now in brazil?
So i made a couple of detailsprites. Vmt settings and in vbsp are identical to valve games. Now when i compile the map the sprites are very strangely lit.
Randomly some are very dark, close to black. Even in the bright areas of the map some sprites are considerably darker then some others of the same type right next to them.
Anyone knows this problem and how to fix it?

Way too gimmicky for my taste. I loose more and more interest in that franchise with every iteration, which is a bit sad because the first cod was my most favourite online fps ever. The wide public of course seems to have a different opinion.
Quote from duxStop generalising stepp.
I'm not generalising. It's simply the reality of game development. Happend countless times on every project that i have worked on.
I know that at Criterion they even have a silly hat to wear for the guy that fucks it up for others.
Quote from Pampersreverting anything on dropbox isnt any harder than svn though
Didn't knew that. Its not as bad as i thought then of course.
Because in game development someone will always fuck up the build. It's no science its part of the development process. I can only imagine that without version control it can be very complicated and time consuming to locate and fix such problems.
Thats pretty awesome.
But using it instead if svn??? That sounds like a terrible terrible idea. Good luck fixing the build after someone fucked it up (which will inevitably happen).
Cool! Good luck from me too!
Cool, that sounds like a big adventure.
Best source map that i have seen. Pictures don't do it justice. Looks even more impressive ingame.
The only thing that i don't like 100% is that every room has a completely different lighting. It certainly helps orientation but from a visual pov its a bit chaotic.
Awesome! If i ever gonna work on my indie game i will choose this engine.
Suddenly there is hope for a german campaign for the next Treyarch CoD.
meh. I like the concept of full 3D combat but this game looks (and sounds lol) just dull.
The irc is pretty much dead isnt it? Last couple of times i went there it was super quiet.
Congrats skdr! Glad you found something!
Daze, willkommen in Deutschland!
What i wrote is that it is more fun to be creative in one of the old editors because you have more freedom as a hobbyist. You dont rely on a team of other people or on personal kickass 3d art skills to create something from scratch.
The usability and work flow is on a complete different piece of paper. In that regard i would prefer something like Sandbox or the Diesel Editor, that i worked with, any day over an bsp editor.
Quote from Warbybut how come none of these insane wysiwyg editors are taking off ?!
i mean farcry 2 doesn't really have a huge mapping following right ? because they editor demos looks just like this ! and same with crysis
Maybe because its more fun to be creative in an oldschool editor as a hobbyist. These new type of editors are fantastic for professional work when a constant flow of new assets is coming in daily and when you work under time pressure. But they take away from the creative freedom if you are not a good 3d artist also. And doing assets yourself is very time consuming and you have to be damn good already to create some nice looking stuff.
