So we should allow monopolies because a company innovates first? ![]()

So, after 7 years of Valve working out all the issues with digital distribution while everyone else sat around with their thumb up their ass, they have the nerve to go cry monopoly on them? Yeah, cry me a river.

What has that to do with anything? The industry and the economy don't stand still and that's a good thing. I wouldn't mind another digital distributer with a 40% market share because then Valve couldn't just translate Dollar prices 1:1 to Euro.

It seems you guys don't understand what the issue is here.
Let's say Gamestop wants to create his own digital download service and wants people to buy their games there, use their social networking, dlc downloads etc. In their shops however they sell retail games which are already interwoven with Steam. This means they have to sell a product for the direct competition and they can't do anything to break this monopoly except treaten to not sell these games anymore.
The solution here is to give buyers of retail games the choice if and with which digital service they want to connect their game. Just like internet users have the choice between different browsers.

It makes sense. I'm also not a fan that games that i bought retail only work with Steam. For example when i bought Civ 5 i couldn't play it for two days because it wasn't officialy launched on Steam at this point.
Steam should only be an option that retail games give for people who like the socialising and the achievements, DLC etc. It shouldn't be integral part of a retail game. That indeed is creating a monopoly situation.

Arhurt you look like a young and slender Bud Spencer

I had never even heard of it until two days ago. And apparently the first one was complete trash but the second one is much improved. It gets a lot of ratings around 90% and so far my impressions are that this is for a reason.

Two Worlds 2
This is gonna be the sleeper hit of the year. Mark my words. Must buy for RPG freaks.

QFT although I think HBO has proven to be the best of the two in terms of quality.
I think AMC overtook HBO in the last couple years. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are just so good. HBO has a new winner show tho with Boardwalk Empire. I almost get sad when an episode is over because i crave for more.

The Walking Dead only has 6 episodes and it rocks so far. Jericho pretty much sucked from the beginning because of shitty production values, bad actors and horrible script.
But that's the big difference between shows from a premium cable network and shows from a regular network. When something has AMC or HBO written over it then you can be sure of high production values and great scripts. Just look at HBO's new show Boardwalk Empire. It's like watching a movie (and a pretty great one).

Video games and TV shows count as movies now?

It's good and I want to see more but the fact that the plot idea is taken straight from 28 days later leaves a bitter taste.
The Walking Dead comic was released before 28 Days Later in America. And even considering the earlier British release it would have been impossible to rip off the idea in such a short time. Just a coincidence that both have a similar beginning.

Just watched the first episode. That was really great.
Better quality and story then many movies in that genre.

Yes indeed, AMC > HBO > the rest

Surprised i'm not the only one who doesn't like it. Usualy on mapcore i'm the only rogue who hates on other peoples favourite movie

Highly overrated indeed. The Dark Knight is a clusterfuck imo. I don't like how they tried to force depth and meaning into the story. It's supposed to be a popcorn flick god damnit.
Ironicaly this seems why it gets so much praise. But it's just wrong. There are way better action films and there are way better films with meaning. All the hype is created by teenagers who don't know shit and probably refuse to watch anything from before 2005.

I'm playing Fallout 2!
I never played the first two Fallouts, well i tried but didn't got into them. This time i forced myself despite hating the clunky gameplay. Now after like 10-15 hours i start to really like the game. The gameplay still sucks imo but the game world and story becomes really addicting.
From my "neutral" perspective a lot of the hate that Fallout 3 gets is unfounded because i recognise so many elements. Imo both games are pretty good. FO2 seems to have a deeper story but FO3 has better gameplay.

I bought Bioshock, Dead Space and Plants vs. Zombies on Steam Halloween sale. ~20 Euro for all three games.

Be minimalist in your lifestyle, just don't own to much shit. When I moved to the US i pretty much condensed all my belongings to one suitcase. It felt awesome getting rid of all the stuff I don't really need
. So basically be prepared to move without too much trouble.Yeah that made my DVD-collection way more awesome aswell
Typical capitalist exploiting the misery of the working class.
