sucks. Maybe it was too overambitious. Level Design was beautiful. What a waste of talent.

At least i was one of the few who had a chance to play a alpha (legally).

Nice. Too much from the highpass filter visible tho in my opinion (greyish color tones)

The more i work with the updated sdk the more i hate it

The 2d views look blurry now, the thicker grid lines disappear when i scroll in to see more, overlays disappear randomly, new and different lighting bugs every time i compile my map even when nothing is changed in that area etc.

doubt it has to do with the monitors itself. many people see "optics". they just dont realise them until they have a trigger experience because their brain is so used to it. To give an example: Some people see pure black when they close their eyes but many others see flickering patterns, colors, moving shapes, "starfields" etc. Thats absolutely normal. Seeing colored "noise", flickering, after images etc. with open eyes is also absolutely normal.

So it's a christian victorian era to think that children and Porn should not mix?

    I beg to differ.

Why punish normal internet users for this? Punish people who provide pop up sex ads and spam mails so kids can surf the net without being forced to see this stuff. Punishing people for searching porn on the internet is the most ridicoulous thing that i have heard of in ages. Please leave us normal people alone with your religious bullshit mr bush!

what kind of stuff did he say?

The comments in[] are by me.

"I'm a big fan of the mod community[ROFL], so we tried to make COD as accessible to modding as possible[Thats a LIE!] - but the modders just weren't there[a punch in the balls for everyone who has tried to mod this game and made it more enjoyable. actualy cod 1 had a large modding community - not a huge one as hl but a large one definately]. They were doing all kinds of mods for Allied Assault, but for Call Of Duty it wasn't anywhere near the same level. And we made the game much easier to mod than Allied Assault... In AA, there was nothing - you had to hack the executable to make a mod []. So if I could go back and have time to work on the game more, I'd spend it making the game more accessible to the modding masses, with more robust tools [This describes why has cod2 has even worse mod suppoprt then cod 1 and no sdk yet a few months after release...]"

Here you can read how much this upseted the cod modding community:

    http://%7boption%7d

(notice:this is their official forum. They are so much involved in community support that they dont even read their own forums and care if people write things that are against their product. The player strike from last month was organized in their own forums and they havent even noticed or tried to delete these threads. Even their forum moderators have come to the point that they write negative about IW and cod2 in many postst and nobody at IW or activision cares about it!)

place a info_lighting in a dark shadowed place of your map and give it a name. then go to the prop properties and choose this info_lighting as lighting origin. This should help.

edit: ah forget what i have written. havent read your complete text under the picture Must be a bug then.

I have a different annoying bug btw in my maps. Everytime i have compiled my map new and run buildcubemaps everything looks ok. the next time i open the map then the lighting of the first person hands and weapon is fucked up (much too dark)

yea we watched the vid at work today, pritty much everyone thought it looked to much like hl2, in all honesty tho insurgency a mod team is creating 100% custom content, why couldnt ritual?

Difference may be that Insurgency content is all produced for free (except the motion capturing). You dont know the budget of Sin Episodes. As a company they must pay for every little piece of art. This can be expensive for a small company with the grade of detail that modern games have.

I dont blame the guys who work there. Decissions about mod and community support are made by the boss or the publisher. CoD 2 has the worst community support that i have ever seen on a top title. Its even worse then on some EA titles from the last few years. They just completely ignore their fans, never answer questions or care about the communitys opinions. And its not only that. Also their boss has talked huge bullshit about the modding community and pissed everybody off who has modded or mapped for cod 1.

Cod 2 was the last game from IW that i have bought. I'm so disappointed by the half assed multiplayer and the non existant customer/mod support by them. The cod community was even on strike last month because IW just ignores its customers. It didn't helped tho to change their attitude.

How come the guy has three hands in first peason view? Sometimes hes holding the gun with two hands and his second left hand makes other stuff

The game looks imo like hl2 produced in a parallel universe. Excellent quality for a mod but for a new game it looks too similar to hl2 for my taste.
