Looking at the website I found...

    # Maîtrise de la langue française

    # Bonne connaissance de l’anglais

Which I think means something along the lines of "fluent speaking of french, good understanding of english", but I could be wrong....my french isn't too hot.

Certainly has more sense of depth to it now, but the vertical lines are too perfectly straight for it to look realistic in my opinion. Definately improved though.

I think for modern engine purposes those pillars are too large a detail to just be plopped on a texture. I guess it would work provided players could never get too close to it, but personally I'd actually model pillars and vents of that size. Very nice texture though, would be awesome for something where polycounts are a large concern.

You seem to limit yourself to standard resources only quite often, why is this? Map looks like a somewhat interesting take on the good old HL1 lab style, but after being spoilt by newer engines, its hard to make anything in that engine that will particularly impress.

I'd have thought almost certainly not. Sure, it should "work" in that you'll get the baked in shadows appearing and, if you turn off lightmaps, there won't be any in game lighting applied, but the number of unique textures you will require to pull this off is almost undoubtadly going to be more than your engine of choice can handle. You might be able to do it if you are making a VERY small map, but I highly doubt it would be possible on most.

There have been some great textures posted, but what I'd like to see is some vertical variants of them for stacking purposes. One 512x512 texture, for source at least, is only really good for a 128 tall wall, which is generally not tall enough for many / any rooms. Having some variants to stack above your low level ones would be great

I completely agree - point_spotlight overdose here. Map is looking very nice though, and entirely different to everything else out there for HL2DM, so I'm sure this will be quite successful.

Fritz is right really, however I can assure you that I didn't post it to annoy people. It was a bit cheeky I admit, but it was my first thought upon reading that "sentence". I completely agree with Kosmo that there are much worse places for poor grammar and most people here do put effort into their posts, but thats what makes posts that aren't well written stick out like a sore thumb. At the snarkpit over the years we've had many people join the site and post in really obnoxious ways (eg. all caps), but pointing out the fact that others on the site don't do that has tended to make them change their ways. I guess thats what I'm trying to do any time I mention people's bad/lazy posting habits, though I could probably have done it here in a more tactful and respectful manner.

Hehe, looks like I touched upon one of your pet hates there Kosmo I don't make a habit of nagging people about it, but once in a while it all builds up and I need a release I see it as a common courtesy to put a bit of effort into laying down your thoughts. Grammar is there for a reason - to make things easier to read and get the exact message across clearly. Choosing not to bother is showing disrespect to the readers. I'm hardly asking for 100% perfect grammar anyway, and I appreciate the fact we are a multinational community and people have different graps of the language, but a little effort goes a long way

Go naruto! Its a little messy, but its a fairly accurate to the style. Perspective seems a little wrong in places to me - the angle of the head doesn't seem extreme enough to justify the amount of head seen behind the right ear, for example.

Yeah the videos are a bit disappointing in that they don't really show anything that the DW series is about. I'm all for nicer looking characters, but I'd prefer to have it showing more than 50 characters on screen at a time, no characters popping in and out of view while you try to fight them, no fogging, and more detailed and dynamic environments. Funky lighting effects? Great, but I'd rather have the resources in this kind of game thrown on other areas.

Well Namco were to be distributing SOMETHING from valve through arcades in Japan, so it wouldn't come as a huge surprise if this was legit. It makes sense for them to "rebrand" it to suit the new customer base. It is a bit wierd that its CS and not CS:S though.

The lighting doesn't seem to match the lights. Those strong orange lights coming up at an angle only seem to give off a hugely pale glow, and the pipes in the middle look to have highlights on the closest edge despite there being nothing there to cause them. Nice enough design though

I just got myself a cheap, but apparently good (for a fledgling newbie to photography like me) digi cam the other day. Twas a Fujifilm S5500, and though it only cost me £175, it offers a lot of features to give you more creative control. It's a 4MP camera and has 10x optical zoom, and its styled like a mini-SLR so it looks quite badass compared to all the compacts in its price range. I've heard that at £175 it is an absolute steal (was going for £240 in high street shops), so I dunno how its priced in the US.

For more info, check it out on the site Kosmo linked to, as it really does have everything you could care to know about pretty much every digital camera out there.

Ooooh thats coming on really well now andrew, a nice clean techy environment, something that too may people seem afraid of trying. One concern though - are those chairs facing a plain wall?
