Wow, that was just an all round badass trailer. Very little to fault there. I don't really give a shit about GTA but that trailer's gotten me a little excited for this one ![]()

Just hope it happens within your warranty so you get a free repair and another 12 month safety period
I was stressing about mine as it was being a bit funny with crashing and a sticky DVD tray with only a few months on my warranty, and in the end it gave me the RRoD with only 2 weeks to go. Big relief...strangely!EDIT: Oh, should also mention that there are reportsof broken 360's coming back with an extra heatsink installed on the CPU, so fingers crossed that will help. Hopefully they'll also start to use it on brand new 360's to reduce the chance of it happening from the start.

Mine broke a month or two back as well, red ring of death just like most folks. The repair went fairly smoothly and took about 10 working days from sending it to getting it back. It really can't be true that they are within standard failure rates for consumer electronic goods; while I get that it is for the most part just anecdotal evidence the stories are just far too widespread to be ignored. Thing is though, IMO the 360 has far too good a game library to write off the console for it's instability.

I rather like it. Not too sure about the right aligned, plain text header though - that looks really boring and basic to me. I wouldn't suggest anything hugely elaborate as that would be at odds with the rest of the design, but I think something a little more remarkable than plain text would be nice.

I'm in the same situation as Frie - I don't think it would be good to rant about my first and current job. I'd love to contribute but I don't think I'm the best candidate for it anyway, there's plenty of people with more experience to draw their opinions from than me. Best of luck with it though mate

I think it's awesome, very inspiring. Not seeing any Claire Danes in there as the filename seems to suggest I should, but I think the lack of resemblance to a particular person makes it more interesting

Most of the new consoles are Taylor (or at least somewhat), but the two platforms that Manhunt 2 is for - PS2 and Wii - are both region locked. That's irrelevant though, as region locking only differentiates between regions rather than countries, and so you could import a copy from a country in the same region as you that gets the game published. I'm sure plenty of people will do just that, but I doubt it's gonna be a "hit" in the UK if you can't walk into a store and buy a copy.

But there's gotta be a limit, right? I mean, paedophilia is "entertainment" for some, but I don't think many people would want kiddy porn (or games based around that subject) legally acceptable. Or rape; would a game in which the mission is to find and rape women be acceptable?

I don't know if this ban will be effective. You can go on-line and order the game from another country...

Only a miniscule number of people are actually gonna do that though, and those that do are unlikely to be the minors that the rating boards particularly want to keep the game away from.

I read some interviews with the EVE guys recently, and they said that it starts off boring and unapproachable by design. As dumb as it may sound, they want to restrict the number of people playing the game in order to keep the community of players they have somewhat elite and dedicated. They don't want millions of people playing it just because its the game everybody else is playing - they want hundreds of thousands playing it because its exactly the game they want to be playing.
They also said the reworked content - all new ship models, interiors of spacestations modelled and explorable, etc... - makes the current game look rubbish. Which is nice to hear considering the game doesn't look too bad from what I've seen of it as is.
Anyway, I've not actually tried the game myself, though it does sound rather intriguing. Might give this 14 day trial a shot for myself

Judging by earlier stuff JonM has shown, I think we can assume it is related to what you think it is

-
Not to mention the occasions when they would switch voices mid conversation - I spoke to a couple of haggard sounding beggars who, once I gave them a coin, started speaking like perfectly refined citizens

-
Indeed it is, Belhaven brewery is actually only about 10 miles from where I live

-
Yeah it is a bit of a worry on that front. I guess it might have been nice if they had used voice acting for important characters and text for general NPC's, but when you're running around a "new tech" game a heavy reliance on text would seem pretty jarring.

Tennants!
Actually I hate the stuff, but just felt I should represent the Scots
Favourite beer? I dunno really, I'm afraid I'm bit unrefined and tend to drink light, refreshing, mainstream beers like Bud or Beck's. Can't really hack ale's - the local beer festival is the only time I delve into those. Most pale, 5% beers sit well with me - Tiger, Kronenbourg 1664, Heineken, Peroni, Stella, whatever. I go for the case with the deal on it

I don't understand why they spend so much time explaining all the G.O.A.T, S.H.I.T system during character creation, it will take what? Max 5 minutes when you know what you want?
I think it makes sense they focus on it, because character creation is a big deal in western RPGs. Also, people were always getting pissy that FO3 wasn't gonna use the SPECIAL system with traits, perks, etc.., so they are demonstrating that, essentially, it does.
Quote from st0lveCamera; First person or 3rd over the shoulder camera? It's clearly that it will be just a crappy port of the PC players. Who to blame, the money is in the consoles anyway.
It isn't like those viewpoints didn't exist until consoles started using them though. I wouldn't be surprised if the game had a more console slant, but I don't think changing the camera to first/third person is "clearly" a sign of it being a "crappy port" on the PC.
Quote from st0lveToo many mutants, what the fuck. Mutants are the the most boring people to fight except from the aliens. It's all about killing raiders, slavers and tribals (or being one of the ones above!). And they look dead ugly (not in a good "ugly mutant style), and they have maces, and not a heavy machine gun. Is this the proof that FO3 will be Oblivion with gunz?! Even in Tactics they atleast had grenades.
It doesn't say anywhere that mutants won't have guns; you can't assume that just because a few of them had melee weapons. Plenty in the original games had sledgehammers and things too. Did they say that mutants make up the bulk of the enemy? I might have missed that, but I don't think they did. The "quest" they document in the article shouldn't be assumed to represent everything in the game.
Quote from MinotauroVault 101 ? hmm
Yeah, does seem a bit of a large number doesn't it? I always thought there would be about 30 of them or so...
Quote from KoKo5oVaRFacial animation ? voice actors ? oblivion ? OH NO !!!!
You didn't honestly think, or even hope, it was gonna have no facial animation and text only dialog did you? Honestly? I guess the 3-general-voice-actors Oblivion might be a reason to worry though...

Sounds like what I was hoping for actually, I'm hopeful

I enjoy pepsi, but I'll take coke over it where available.

Errrr, buh? Is that really you peris? You posted loadsa pics of the old style peris, and there's no way in hell those new pictures are of the same person
My head can't handle this confusion! -
I don't recall when I found out, but it was obvious from my grades that I was going for a 2:1. I'd secured my position with Outerlight before finishing uni and since it was fairly obvious what grade was coming my way I wasn't all that excited to find out really! Obviously if you're going for first you're slightly more eager though, especially when making job applications
I don't think I had to wait too long, though I don't remember if it was put up somewhere on OASIS or we had to wait for something through the post.As for the first unsuccessful job application? Their loss
What positions are you looking to go for; more programming or more design? I'll put in a good word for you at Outerlight if you're interested; I can't promise we're hiring right at the minute though I've a feeling we might be soon.
