World of Worms? That is like a The Incredible Machine MMORPG, I'm not that sure it would be good, it doesn't actually have the content for anything Massive.

kosmo i agree with you but what i'm really waiting for is a dev who uses the new bling bling graphic features to create a really original distinct style. HL2 partially did this, the source engine is alot different from other nextgen engines and the game has a distinct style, and i hope we'll see something similar but better for ghost
I want to see what awesome stuff blizzard will do with new technologies. It would be cool to see a distinctive style like Blizz has but used in the next-gen style, somehow I feel that Doom3 did kinda something like that, but in many ways they went over board and HL2 was a great game, but only once, I really loved the story and gameplay mechanics, but I just can't get myself around to play it again.
But what makes Blizz so magnificent compared to the other developers like Valve and their HL series, Blizz just has made their worlds so alive and deep, I got Warcraft books and RPGs and all the games and I completely love the warcraft universe, it is so well rounded and the possibilities are endless, the amount of story in HL (and it's expansions) and HL2 are nothing compared to warcraft, but then again, action games must sacrifice the story element bit for the action element, you just can't make it so story driven like RTS can be or it will strip down the players effect on the surroundings. So I understand why many games don't have deep storylines, they have to maintain the illusion of player made decisions even tho everything is predetermined.

Mazy I think you are one of those bling bling people

For me, the love for Blizz games comes from the fact that they don't make their games by the latest hot graphics like other companies do, they make their own thing and I can't really tell if there is any other developer left to do that, every other developer has gone with the add-sugar-to bandwagon, with companies like Epic and Valve.
Yeah, watching the screens makes me really hope that they'd round up the WoW texture artists and make the textures again for the ghost since they are really low resolution. But the cartoony/painted looking style is what I admire in Blizzards games. And they are propably only company that has said "fuck the graphics, we make stories" I guess they realize that people still reade books

The weirdest thing is that why haven't other companies noticed this? I mean is there anyone, anyone at all that doesn't like any of Blizzards games? And not a single person mentions "they have so awesome graphics" but they all praise blizzards innovative gameplay and stories.
If my plans to start my own development studio won't fail, I'm going to do it just like Blizz and focuse on the story and other elements than the fucking graphics, I hate graphics and that is bad thing since I'm a graphic artist.
Dammit, the best games on my list still are Warcraft series, Zelda series and Super Mario series. And I hope that ignorant and imaginationless people who wet their panties for Gears of War or UT2007 don't destroy Blizz by forcing them to hop in the bling bling plane to sucky games land.
Sorry, rant was not directed to anyone specific, just to all of us gamers, me including.

Anything Blizz can toss at me this point, another warcraft game, starcraft game or diablo game I'm so game. Blizzard just takes so long to make the games, and I'm hoping that I misread the signs I have been spotting, Ghost being 3rd person action shooter, wow being a 3rd person mmorpg, if diablo is their next game they start to make, it is action adventure. Are they going to leave the RTS games behind (or alternatively make them really rare).
But like I said, at this point, Blizz can't do a game I'm disappointed.
-
Yeah well PC Starcraft game is way over due, but knowing how story oriented company Blizz is we'd have to see how Ghost unravels. But something shocking is underway I'm positive of it, and the story goes that few of the teams have been "inactive" after WoW was released so they have got all this time to do Starcraft2/Diablo3 pre-production. Every time I hear a rustle from either Blizzards or Relics direction my ears and eyes are peeled on them like a hawk, with binocuolars and one of those spy distance listening thingies.

The peoples game company (yeah I like The Rock analogies) has an impressive array of open jobs at it's pages.
They range all the way from console artist and game designers to programmers and in-game staff for WoW. I'm pretty sure that Blizz won't hire people just to sit around, and after blizz bought Swingin' Ape the developer of Starcraft: Ghost I don't think they did it just to see the development of this game through, but they are clearly as interested on next-gen consoles are are the other developers, who knows, maybe we will see WoW going to consoles to further the insane 2million subscribers currently roaming the Lands of Azeroth.
Something is definedly happening since a plethora of job openings are on Bliz Norht offices, and they are known for making the Diablo series, so maybe something yum yum for the Diablo freaks out there, so STAY SHARP PEOPLE!

I think that voice actors are a pickle, some are underrated and some are overrated like heroine, like game voice actors, take Japanese games/anime for instance, people don't pay attettion to them that much, but that is what makes them so good, they make the characters so natural that you don't even think that the character is voice acted by someone, you just think that the character actually sounds like that.
And on the other end, there are some really really crappy voice actors who just make the whole game/cartoon so crappy that it hurts your ass when you play/watch it.
But then again, the good voice actors are overrated to no end, and in this I'm using The Simpsons voice actors as an example, now just to be clear, I love Simpsons like mad, there is no episode I have not seen and game I have not played or comics I have not read, but $125,000 per episode is completely insane, someone should take those asswipes down a peg.

Cross genre comparing is always hard, well atleast for a thinking movie addict like me it is.
Well let's see, two action/drama actors do seemingly funny comedy not written by any good comedy writer I know or like, and added the fact that the same writer who pushed out crap like xXx2 and Fantastic floormodels (I'm not expecting F4 to be near anything like Spidey 2 and X-men 2). And I don't like Angelina Jolies face because it smells.
On the other end we have a comic book character that I have loved like life from the beginning of my pitiful life, directed by strange man Christopher Nolan (did memento, great movie, not so great at the second time) and starred by Christian Bale who has proven himself in Reign of Fire (love the dragons) and Equilibrium (name people from USA can't say correctly even if their life depended on it
), movie has Liam Neeson (damn) and swordfight with katanas (the mark for cool). After carefully examining the facts, I'd go with Batman like a Batarang.
But just because you said it is good, I'm going to cause pain to the whole movie industry and download the movie from the internet (which MTV says is as bad crime as stealing someones car) and watch it. But Batman I will see in the theaters.

they must be making a new star craft at this point, if they arent then they got something seriously fucked up in their heads :G~but it'll prolly take another 5 years after announcement before its even released, so hmh~
Yeah, Blizz isn't known for their speed
BUT they are known for best damn games in the universe and some awesome IPs.Quote from FrieChampKosmo, BF2 became what TF2 wanted to become, face it.I'm thinking of a more or less realistic, yet action packed, team orientated shooter with vehicles.
Yeah, but if Valve is trying to be true to the TF roots, it is going to be more of an arcade shooter than BF2 style realistic shooter.
If not, well then the game Valve is making is not TF anymore than by the name. And even tho TFC is old, I still enjoy a brief moment with it and the fast paced action it gives in contrast to the BF2s game play.
-
I think TF2 and BF2 are in completely different series, just like original BF and TF were, and if you don't see that, then maybe you should stop playing minesweep and try them out.
I believe that even tho TF didn't have vehicles it's pretty much standard in these days, but I hope the small fast paced maps of TF still remain, I do like vehicles but when they are at every frikkin game it's getting out of hand, I mean I can't even play a game of blacjk jack without driving a humvee with a machinegun on top, it's ridiculous!
And what surely will make TF2 in to league of it's own, is (cross my fingers and hope) built strucktures, I really hope they will put the engineer built ammo thingies and turrets and add some more stuff to the list, but I liked the TFCs futuresque setting more than the modern world setting of TF2 from what I have seen from videos and screens.
And to the MIA list, I missed anything other than WoW that Blizzard was making, Blizz still is a big company but it just seems that they are making just WoW, a big time Blizz fan that is disturbing, I want my next RTS title (please god let it be Starcraft), I'm not that sure but I think that Blizz has killed the Warcraft universe for about five years or more with WoW, I'm not saying that I'm not happy with WoW but they can't do another RTS and change the storyline like they did with WC2 and WC3 without making too big changes to the MMORPG.
Another IP from Blizz á la Warcraft and Starcraft would be so awesome.

We have some places here in the center of the world that people also refer as Oulu where you can order chinese/thai food, and we have some places that sell tacos (mainly restaurants tho) but I have been graving for Taco Bell ever since I saw Demolition man where Taco Bells were the only restaurant left from the great restaurant war and it had Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone ate at the Taco Bell and then kicked some hobo ass after that and I think it was so sweet, so I would like to have a Taco Bell that I could eat and after that I could go out and kick some hobo ass.

Yeah well XML is actually already in use in the web to some extent, like PHP scripts reading XML files and some flash structure data with XML feed, but it's something you should not bother yourself with, there is a saying "you know when you need something", and it goes the same with valid CSS and XHTML, we don't actually NEED to do sites with it, but the designer community is just using it to sort of speak their own language, and I guess that is where I got my obsession for standards from.
-
Standardised salsry sucks ass, if you work for a big corporation that makes billions with your work you still get the same salary as the fucker in the other company that manybe doesn't do that well.
-
The work I have done as freelancer the hardest part is to get a big project done with what I have, as a one man "agency" I don't have the resources of a big company that has several prople doing different things, now I have to be a one man do it all machine. But often I have been in a situation where I have had to turn to a freelancer, usually I have bought stock photos to use on my ads and websites, or bought fonts and illustration when the deadline has been tight. I can do all that, but only when I have like 3 months time to do it.
Try to picture in your mind you doing the job, and try to set it on steps, it is very hard to estimate the time spent doing it, but it is easier when you got your plan laid down, as for me I have steps when creating a web page, step one: back end, step two: design, step three: beta test, step four: populating the site, now all these steps can be broken down to smaller steps but usually these are also the things that are also questions, do they have back end already, do they have a design or old design they want to use, are they going to populate the site themselfs and so on.
Usually when doing creative work, artists blocks are not uncommon, some days you just don't have any ideas, so make sure that you have something usefull to do when this happens.
Make sure that your salary, deadline and resources are all clear when taking a job, with these things laid down you should not have any big problems.

Btw the site was nice.
One thing though (its not a complaint since i don't care that much, just want to help) you have spelled Discreet 3D Studio Max wrong

If you want it as a portfolio site which i believe it is, it makes a bad impression with things spelled incorrectly

Spellbinder.
Oh shit, damn, well the funny thing is that not only I am a moron, but most of my friends are too, since I told like 5 friends to check the site out for typos
Well it's fixed now. Well fixed and fixed, I took the liberty of starting to use the Autodesk 3ds Max name for it since that is what it is now.
A word of advice, if you only want to create websites, then forget everything you know about XML since it is completely different than XHTML is, XML is a markup language like XHTML, BUT it is used by other programs than web browsers, like for example Winamp skins can be built using XML.
Yeah I know, to explain what XML is, is the most complicated thing even tho XML is not actually that complicated.
Example. You build a program that gets data through a XML file, you got Element 1 that marks up the price of a product, then you got Element 2 that marks up the name of the product and then you got Element 3 that marks up the availability of the product. So you program reads the XML file to get the data and the XML file looks something like this.

I have heard of this, and they mostly come out at night, mostly.

If they don't have age issues with that, how can it be banned for being too dangerous? It's like saying that you can't drive a car because it is too dangerous even if you are old enough.
I love Air soft, it is way cooler than Paintball, the guns look like real guns, tho the problem of not knowing when you got hit and not having any proof that you hit someone like in Paintball it a minus.

It seems that the Mapcore IRC channel is way more chaotic than the forum is, and THAT is chaotic.

Well the skinny is that HTML and XHTML are actually prettymuch the same thing, but the difference being that XHTML is used for markup like it was invented and CSS presents all the styling to the markup document.
XHTML and CSS are used today by many designers to create wesites since tables are not supposed to be used to build a site, they are merely a component to present tabular data, like for example a list property is to present a list.
If you check out my site http://www.kosmov.net the whole site is build and presented in validating standard XHTML and CSS, no tables what so ever used, it is the webstadard way.
