Quote from mawibse
Not overly impressed by you're choice of words Kosmo.Just a friendly advice, no matter how invalid your opinion is, it will look even worse when framing it with "nazi" and "fucking ".
In fact, reasoning with someone that writes like that makes me want to sink to a teenager's level.
For a guy who believes in fairy king you sure talk tough.
Quote from mawibseUSA has been free game for ages, it’s not like 9/11 was the first try ever, just the first to really succeed.
You’d prefer if it was made with a nuke next time?
And you prefer the next time US was the one doing the "next time" and with nukes, missiles, bombs and what not? If you haven't noticed, there isn't much of a "balance of power", but I suppose that you don't have any sense on the matter anyway, you are carefully sided with the comfortable west and all that is better for you, goes in your book.
Quote from mawibseNot really, they just don't want countries that are a threat to them or their allies to have them.
Exactly, side with the comfortable west against the oh so evil and cruel invaders from other countries.
Quote from mawibseThe result was amongst other things a much faster end to the war with fewer casualties then if it had ended by "conventional" means.
So you and your propaganda machine keeps telling us.
Quote from mawibseEveryone? Can't do anything? What are you talking about?
Read the part above, the part that talks about the "balance of power".
Quote from mawibseThere is allot the world is threatened by, and allot of wars in it, to think that only one country is responsible for them all is, well how should I put it, simplifying things most extreme.
The only country that at the moment goes around the globe, bombing shit out of countries continents away is USA, you ARE welcome to prove me wrong. An as we are speaking about GLOBAL SCALE WAR the only one that has ever done it is USA.
Quote from mawibseAhhh "nazi", the word is so misused these days that its meaning is lost, it sure isn't used as the dictionary says it should, that's for sure.
If your actions are similar to Nazi's then by definition, you are a Nazi, I'm sorry if your blind fold dictionary and bible tell you other.
Quote from mawibseI realize the "with religious view as old as fucking stone" was just something you wrote to belittle religion and US with one, eh, stone. But if you really think that the religious views in US is as old as stone, I don’t know what crappy religion and history teachers they have in Finland or where ever you come from, but believe you me, stone has existed before man and moral views, religious or not, has changed allot just the last couple of hundred years.
Oh, my, you sure that stone is older than a religion? How did I miss a solid fact like that, I must be slipping on my old age and all..
Look, I don't care how much you lie to yourself that "religious views have changed during some years and noise like that" but the fact is that the founding pillars still remain, and as long as they remain, there will allways be hatred between religions.
-
I am truely amazed that I can be amazed day after day how USA has the most ignorant, fundamental leader in the world, and people don't see it.
That guy is making the whole country in to a drooling tribe of barbarians.
-
It is strange that the idea of some country having nukes is a valid reason to attack the country, does this mean that USA is free game?
US makes sure that no other country has nukes, and yet, they are the only fuckers that have ever used one in a war. It's like a John Woo stand out, the guy with the pistol is telling me that I should put down my gun for my own safety or he is going to shoot me. I would hold on to the pistol twice as hard then. Especially if the guy had history of popping people on a whim.
I don't want Iran or any other country to have nukes, but it doesn't make me sleep well at nights, knowing that there isn't any country that can do anything when the fundamentalist leaders of USA start to roll over everyone.
Face it people, the only country that is a major threat to the world and peace is United fucking States, nazis who reign supreme in control of the largest arsenal of weapons in the history of the world with religious view as old as fucking stone.

Quote from D3ads
Looking Glass are working on Bioshock, but not much has been revealed...
We NEED Shock3, I would jizz my pants if I got to play that

I haven't played Far Cry before, I was put off by the plastic models and overly colourful green terrain...
EA is fucking up the licence.. I mean EA is making a sequel to Systie, but everyone knows that BioShock is the spiritual sequel for the Systie, it actually has people working on it that worked on the original Systie, the EA game is just a cash in.

Non-compete clause is standard procedure in many technology companies, Nokia as an example.
But I don't know if the "technology" game developers are making is valuable or unique enough to proceed with legal documents to keep employees down.
-
I enjoyed FarCry more than I enjoyed HL2 and Doom3, but then again, I enjoyed Riddick loads more than I enjoyed FarCry.
I agree with Posteh, back in the days we loathed linear games that didn't offer us anything, now they are the standard of quality?
Where are the games like, System Shock 2, Paradroid, Elite, Bioforge of our time?
It's becoming rediculous that the risks are way too high to make innovation, every other industry besides entertainment industry is based on innovation, without them the whole indsutry would go down, but entertainment industry is the only one that flies with "the same old bullshit".
And I'm not talking about WILD ideas here, I'm more about extra than complete rehaul, like Thief and Riddick, FPS shooters with a twist. push the genre forward. Some day we will have something new in place of FPS shooters, and then we bitch about it being dull.
But after I have said all that, I have to say that I'm looking forward to Crysis. Since I looked forward to Doom3 and HL2 too, it doesn't automatically mean that it will be good or anything.

I find it funny how people are like "Muslims are crazy, they pronounce jihad for almost nothing and threaten our lifes and noise like that".
We (Europe, USA and friends) are currently having troops in their countries, and there is no insurance if it will end before every single country in the Middle-east is under our rule (by puppet goverments), the threat of the nuclear nation allstars attacking some country is real in Middle-east, it's a genuine threat.
And people are wondering why they are pissed at us?

Quote from RD
If you dont confront it, and keep apologizing just because your tired of their shit, youll never get it over with.
Anyways, now also the germans, french, dutch, spanish and italian papers have republished the cartoons and added a new one:
The front page of the daily France Soir on Wednesday carried the headline "Yes, We Have the Right to Caricature God" and a cartoon of Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Christian gods floating on a cloud. Inside, the paper reran the drawings.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4670370.stm
Theyre being owned by freedom

I don't mean that we should apologize or live by their rules, everybody are going to some stupid extremes. How does "respect your fellow man" suddenly turn in to "live by their rules"?
I actually like the god idea, but it's very different, Muslims were angry because some racist bitch make every Muslim look like a terrorist, he drew a picture that portrayed the whole Islam as a religion of terror and violence. I happen to know a Muslim, and he is an intelligent pacifist, he doesn't accept any of the things Muslims pull "in the name of Allah" but he didn't like the religious satire either.
Quote from SkjalgThey probably respect islam as a religion, but the whole thing about using muhammed in drawings was probably to point out the fact that they were using their religion for a war, which in turn shows that all they ment was that they dont respect Islam (yes, their own religion).
And you state this as a fact?
Quote from SkjalgWe decided to take them in, yes.. But does that mean we gotta follow their rules? wheres their tolerance?
Again, how does respecting their religion and culture turns in to "following their rules", soon you will be telling me that "I'm either with you or against you".
Weird extremes.
Quote from SkjalgJust think of what you said here, journalists should be afraid to put their opinions in the newspapers? WW2 anyone? You act like you just want to dig a hole and hide from everything.
I'm not saying they shouldn't put their opinions in to newspapers, I just would like them to consider if it is so smart to mock other religions just to sell papers.
The Paris riots started from nothing, so the religious tension is very very high, anything can set the flames.

We shouldn't automatically like the games Mapcorians work on, but we should shower them with gifts and honor.

Quote from GrayFox
To put it simply: More then one director = No membership in Directors Guild of America = no Oscar.
I don't think George Lucas is a member of the DGA and still Star Wars gets nominated. I might be wrong, though.
Neither George Lucas nor Quentin Tarantino are members of DGA, but who the hell would want to be in their little gay club anyway, they fined Lucas for not having opening credits in Star Wars. I mean, man can't do what the hell he wants with his movie now?

RD, respect is the problem, the western artists don't respect Islam, the Muslims don't respect laws.
I agree with you 100% that freedom of speech is very important. But Denmark, Holland and many other European countries decided to take in people from all religions and all cultures, where is their tolerance? Or don't Muslims count as people?
Just today there was in radio that some czech or other baltian beer company was using Jesus in ther commercials and the goverment banned the commercial, is it right? Hell no, but is it worth it to piss off people? Hell no!
I would say, that at this time and age, you would be wise to stay off of religious parody. Just a hint, since crazy fuckers are aiming missiles at each others, and I'm not just talking about USA/Europe vs. Middle-East situation, things aren't so great on the Pakistan-India axel either, not to mention Israel situation.
And the not so distant Paris riot just shows that things are going to get steamy in our own turf too, so we don't need fuckers like the cartoonist to spice the soup up. Since it's not just Muslims that cause problem, if you think back, you might notice that there has been some rumblings in Ireland too.

Cultures in Middle-east and Asia are very very different from western cultures. As an extreme example I will use Japan, because it is the culture I know best. Honor is everything to these people, they don't go around shouting and badmouthing people like we do, it's our culture, they don't like it, they don't watch Ozbornes. But when we took piece of their culture and made mockery out of it - that is typical to our culture, you don't understand it, mock it - and we literally showed our way of thinking down their throats.
This is the prime example of how annoying it is when people who don't know shit about you, your country or your culture come and tell you what is right and tell you how to live and how your ideas are wrong and all that shit.
We should not mess with them, not even when it is matter of "freedom of speech".

Stolve seems to be the single person intelligent enough to wrap the whole damn thing in to swallowable pill size format. Read his post, if you still don't understand what he is about, read it again, rinse and repeat if necessary.
What WE as the mighty and oh so "civilized" western people think is O.K. might not fly elsewhere, and this is the thing that propably has started the whole shitfest the world is currently, and I'm not just talking about this incident, I'm talking about things that stretch good few decades.
Sure, what is perfectly ok and legal here, might not be so cool when we go to other countries. RESPECT is the word that comes in to mind, maybe if we respected enough each other, we might just survive the first hundred years of the 21st century, but people like the fabled cartoonist is shaving years off of that predicament all the time. And for what? Cheap laughs? Just because he had as short insight as his dick? Just because he is actually using our legal racism or "freedom of speech" as some might recognize it, he just gathered a whole few billion religious people and summed them up in 12 pictures, AND YOU MOTHER FUCKERS ARE ALL LAUGHS AND GIGGLES!
It's mind boggling to think how ignorant and short sighted people can be, but every day I wake up, I wake up to find yet another proof of whole planet worth of diminishing intelligence and most important of all, respect for fellow human being.
Ignorance is the doomsday device.

But the difference being that, what is thought to be something, and what is actually honest to god something.
-
Yeah, well I can believe that they might have an open mind on some questions (like if there is life outerspace and such) but paranormal?
Examples of the questions:
"houses can be haunted"
"people on this Earth are sometimes possessed by the devil"
"Witches"
"people can hear from or communicate mentally with someone who has died"
I really don't see how one could believe those even remotely true.
-
I would love to see how those questions were worded.
"Do you rather believe in ghosts or that George W. Bush is god?"
