not that it will stop alot of kids getting their hands on it.

Yeah it's just another way to control people and relief parents from responsibility of their chidlrens actions.

I just hope people in the states now finally understand, how people in the countries were feeling when they bombed the cities to dust, it's not just news flashes and politicians talking.

Jynx, I agree that when a game is harmful to children like Harvester back in 96' it's not something kids should be able to buy. But games like GTA series are not that kind of games, the whole system is just fucked up, ESRB is tightening the ratings and at the same time this kind of law is being pushed out everywhere.

Grayfox, your logic doesn't work. Even one pack of smokes is bad for your health, besides they have nicotin that creates addiction, if that is not bad for you I don't know what is.

And are you implying that after some set amount of games, everyone is dangerously violent and might even kill people? Like how cigs after a long time, messes up your health totally and might even kill you.

    What's wrong with that?

You mean about fining if someone sells a game to a minor?

Well first of all, they are comparing it to tobacco or alcohol as how dangerous it is to people, another rule to control the masses, and they are generalizing that all kids are capable of murdering innocent people just by playing violent videogames.

    What is RIGHT with that?

What did I say when the news about the state of Illinois was going to fine clerks who sell games to minors? I predicted this!

I myself enjoy alot seeing my model scooting down dangerous hallways in a game, it just beats everything hands down, no game can produce that feeling of achievement.

Well, it must have been Super Mario for the nes, and the real kick to gaming came from Star Wars for nes and the lust for development came from playing endless hours of Warcraft2 and Settlers2.

Tho we had Commadore 64 when I was a kid, but it just didn't launch my gaming enthusiasm.

The AoE3 is set on colonial times and gradually gets to the independence war, just like Colonization.

Hipshot, what is wrong with american Independence war?

  • Scripting in Source

Strange tho, adding something like Lua is not that hard, nor timeconsuming, but it is really valuable tool for mappers who know scripting, and it would make the gameworld richer. Like the welding panels and doors in Natural Selection.

Since I have started to learn various scripting languages and have even dabbled with some unrealscript, I have been reading various content creation tutorials from the HL2 wiki, but it just seems that there is nothing in source that is done with scripting.

So is there a scripting engine in Source or is it just plain old coding? If it is just coding, it's just stupid, having to compile every time you make changes.

If there is no scripting in source it just seems very crippled and old, most todays engines use scripting for various actions and they keep those things away from the engine code itself.

    Opinions anyone?

It's not much, but I think it will help my sister cope after seeing these devestating images on TV and felling like she couldn't do anything about it.

I think the same feeling is going through us all, just deposited some money on Red Cross collection, I guess I won't be eating for a week, but I guess it's a small misery compared to them on New Orleans.

You can convert/port something to a platform that is not as powerful as the original, i.e. Splinter Cell game for DS and so on.
