well surely that's the high res version before reduction and normal mapping.

yes many animals are treated poorly. but you don't think this is a little unusual, even gratuitous, in terms of animal cruelty?
there are plenty of stray dogs in that part of the world and they need bait for the sharks. that's fine, they're just putting two and two together. i'd just rather they shoot it in the head or cut its throat before they put a hook in its gums and drag it behind the boat, is all.
alexroyce, have you ever owned a dog?
-
I quite like that, H2.
-
"a dog's got personality. personality goes a long way."
i wouldn't really care except that the dog is *alive* being dragged along behind a boat with a hook in its gums, waiting to be eaten alive by a shark. why couldn't they at least kill the poor bugger first, humanely.
-
cripes that's accurate, how many polies in that ?

The map has been stretched out so that its not as crunched up as players would have a really hard time navagating through the areas. Detail has also been toned down in places as the map already gets ~40 fps and occasionally drops as low as 20 fps which needs to be fixed somehow.
Hm. My first thought was that it's really wide open and kind of lacking in cover, even indoors. Granted most of Valve's maps feel really close quartered, but I think you may have taken it a bit too far in the other direction.
And, well, real life was never intended for game engine performance, but it's hard to explain that to the laymen you're working for

Sorry, your posts are just difficult for me to follow, kind of train-of thought stuff. Don't worry too much

Let's be clear here. Intelligent Design is half-assed pseudoscience dreamed up by Creationists. It only asks questions and provides no answers. Its ONLY use is to drive a wedge into the public education system. Their goal is to get people teaching Creationism in schools. This is flatly absurd and cannot be allowed.

At the third picture there's this poor guy staring in to see what the rich and beaty ppl are doing, while they rais a lot of money.
I.E why doesn't we take care of our own first?
But as soon something happens a broad every one wants to chip in.
With that said i don't even know if he really is poor, he maybe just look that way.
Spellbinder.
heheh, yeah i know what you mean. i remember a thought kind of along those lines occurring to me at the time. i liked the juxtaposition.
the thing was free and donation-based; he could have come if he wanted but he was waiting at the bus stop and just saw something going on

i've played fear MP a few times. if i buy the game it'll be for the SP.

RD, how can we "investigate" ID? At this point it has to remain faith-based. I mean, we have SETI and such, there is some effort to look for extraterrestrials. Sure they could use more money but what else can we do?
Kosmo I'm still pretty unclear what you're trying to get across.
QuoteEvolution doesn't necessary happen on it's own, after dinosaurs vanished as a quirk of universe, humans became the next-gen (if you will) and it had absolutely nothing to do with natural selection.
OF COURSE it did. The dinosaur extinction is one of the great demonstrations of natural selection.
There was a massive catastrophe that utterly changed the global climate. These things happen. Huge lumbering dinosaurs were unsuited to the new, devastated climate and ecology. Small warm-blooded mammals were better suited and so they survived, reproduced, and eventually the planet got better. Millions of years later humans evolved.
Quotea theory mere few decades old can hardly be called theory at all.
heheh get a little perspective. Evolution is only like 150 years old. People have known about Creation for thousands of years

here, have a chuckle: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/27604

so you're trying to reconcile natural selection with the "unnatural" selection that we as sentient human beings are imposing upon ourselves and our environment?
-
what is your point?

that's an awful lot of really nice polished hardwood flooring and paneling. belushi and guinness FTW!

bullshit and drama happen everywhere. the vast majority of it doesn't make it into the limelight. i guess sometimes it takes a forty-million dollar dispute.

So San Francisco is a pretty cool place. I was digging through some old stuff on the ol' hard drive and came across these pictures I took last January at a tsunami benefit event held at an art house/cafe/bar in the city. They brought in Thai dancers (not pictured), bellydancers, breakdancers, a small brass band and a huge marching band. The place was rockin'.
The first pic features a couple friends of mine who are bellydancers. They weren't performing that night; they were there to see their friends in the troupe on the bill.
One of my favorite things to do in picture-taking is to wait for the right moment and catch someone else's flash from somewhere else in the room. You get such a stark and vivid picture. The pictures were taken on a compact canon s400 point-n-shoot in very low light so they're really noisy.
