I want to go to a demonstration of that, wait for them to have it do the Mona Lisa, and then take a leaf blower to it.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting fucked out of rank points. According to DICE, I have unlocked the Red Dot for Assault Kits which costs 13,900 Assault Points, yet I'm only a level 4 where level 5 requires 3,700 Global Points. Global Points: overall cumulative score, adding your combat and award scores. Combat Score: cumulative score, adding all kit and vehicle scores...

Unless I'm reading this wrong, I should be at least a level 9 by now, unless kit unlocks happen in game and rank increase is only calculated at the end of every round, since my game likes to crash to desktop before every other round is completed.

I also wanted to know which editor wins

My theory: there was a post near the end, just before the deletion. This post was no ordinary post, oh, no! Posted by one so wise and near a level of game-developer-omnipotence most of us dare not dream! Posted in that special hour of the day when _all_ of us were away from the siren call of the core. In this post, The Unknown Poster provided rock solid proof; proof that made God himself turn and go "Hmm... how did I miss _that_?". Proof that one editor was truly superior than the other. Proof that would make believers and non-believers unite under the common banner of the One, True Editor.

But alas, for the first one to stumble upon the Post of Truth was none other than a moderator. Which one? Only the higher power of moderators and Lord of the Server Logs will know. This moderator saw the truth, and for the first time in his life, he _understood_ the truth! "This... this cannot be!" said the moderator! And swiftly, he deleted all traces of the One, True Post, forever lost to the Beast of Internet Past. The Truth, now known only by a select few, will be pondered by those very few. But soon, The Truth will be forgotten, even by those who once knew and rejected it, never to be known again, until one day, maybe, the Unknown Poster will return, and reveal the truth again.

The game itself is great in just about every way. It's everything that leads up to you actually playing the game is pure shit (EA servers crashing, server browser, friends management, server management, punkbuster, etc). It's like DICE spent the entire dev time making just the game, and then crammed everything else together in a weekend.

Some guy on Kotaku posted a very long theory that ends with"I think it'll be called the Blue Box and it will contain Ep3 as well"

    ....yeah right

no way. Valve has said numerous times that Ep3 won't be out this year. Portal 2 is probably gonna be a stand alone product, stand alone price, stand alone length. I'm cool with it.

So... we staring a pool on how many times this gets delayed? Who's in for 2 times? Anybody for a delay that pushes it into next year?

Got it because I love TA and the original Supreme Commander. I gotta say I'm very disappointed. I understand that SupCom 2 != SupCom, but they seem to have removed a substantial amount of what made SupCom/TA stand above every other RTS. After Playing SupCom 2, I didn't feel like I was playing anything special. It felt like I was playing every other run-of-the-mill RTS. Me and a buddy played a skirmish in SupCom 2. After the match we went and played a match of vanilla SupCom, almost with the same sense of urgency you get from walking out of the theater during a bad movie.

    Very disappointed

To be fair, we only played for about 2 hours. Maybe there's more redeeming qualities in the game with more play time, but right now, I just don't see it.

Played it for about an hour. Loved what I played. Gameplay and mood are very much Indigo Prophecy, which is awesome. My only complaint is the voice acting is terrible, which really hurts some scenes.

Also, my game likes to glitch out on me. In one scene, the character I was talking to got stuck in a loop and just kept warping back and forth from one spot of the room to the other, but everything else didn't realize this, so the camera and props she interacted with kept doing what they should have been doing while the character model glitched back and forth. It's really hard to be immersed in a game when you're talking to air and a floating cigarette

Gonna put off playing it for a few weeks until a few patches roll out.

the longer you delay doing the suicide mission to more of your crew die. You can do one mission and no one will die.

    No.

    Quote

This statement is only true after you get the Reaper IFF and the Collectors ambush your ship and capture everybody except Joker. From that point on, the longer it takes for you to start the suicide mission, the more of the capture crew will die (non-party members, like Yeoman Chambers, Dr. Chakwas, Engineers, etc). The only things that have an effect on which one of your party members die are: the upgrades to the Normandy, whether or not you completed their loyalty quests, and your decisions of who does what during the end mission.

My first play-through, Thane died after going through the tubes, everybody else lived, and I didn't lose any of my crew members. I reloaded from saves after I finished the game and tried a few options just to see what would happen. Still going to use my first ending where Thane dies as my 'offical canon' for Mass Effect 3

Man, what's wrong with you guys, Civ 4 came out five years ago dudes, it's been more than long enough for a new Civ. I've personally been waiting a while for this one, cause I love most of Civ4 but hate the combat mechanics, the announcement of hexes and redone combat and new engine = I'm so getting this

Second. There goes all hope for me being productive the weekend after this comes out.

NEW YORK, Feb 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (TTWO 9.58, -0.08, -0.83%) , today announced that Sid Meier's Civilization® V, the newest entry from the genre-defining strategy-based franchise, is currently in development at Firaxis Games for PC. Civilization V reinvigorates the classic turn-based strategy genre with an astonishing new engine built from the ground-up for this flagship edition of the Civilization franchise. Players are introduced to an entirely new combat system, deeper diplomatic interactions and a cavalcade of expanded features that deliver a fully immersive experience providing hours of entertainment as players build and defend their empire on their quest to become the greatest ruler the world has ever known.Civilization V takes this definitive strategy game series in new directions with the introduction of hexagon tiles allowing for deeper strategy, more realistic gameplay and stunning organic landscapes for players to explore as they expand their empire. The brand new engine orchestrates a spectacular visual experience that brings players closer to the Civ experience than ever, featuring fully animated leaders interacting with players from a screen-filling diplomatic scene and speaking in their native language for the first time. Wars between empires feel massive as armies dominate the landscape, and combat is more exciting and intense than ever before. The addition of ranged bombardment allows players to fire weapons from behind the front lines, challenging players to develop clever new strategies to guarantee victory on the battlefield. In addition to the new gameplay features debuting in Civilization V, an extensive suite of community, modding and multiplayer elements will also make an appearance.

"Sid Meier's Civilization franchise has been recognized as one of the greatest PC game franchises of all time with millions of units sold worldwide," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Civilization V takes the franchise further by offering players a more immersive experience with deeper strategies; heightened tactical combat; vast, realistic landscapes to explore, battle over and claim as their own; and an in-game community hub where Civ fans can share content and compete against each other without leaving the game. This marks a new era that will forever change the franchise responsible for sleep deprivation and reduced productivity for nearly two decades."

"Each new version of Civilization presents exciting challenges for our team," said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games. "Thankfully, ideas on how to bring new and fun experiences to Civ players never seem to stop flowing. From fully animated leaders and realistic landscapes, new combat tactics, expanded diplomacy and shared mods, we're excited for players to see the new vision our team at Firaxis has brought to the series."

In addition to Civilization V, Firaxis Games is also currently developing Sid Meier's Civilization® Network, a Civ game for Facebook. With Sid Meier leading design, Civilization Network will offer yet another option for world domination to both the casual gamer and the biggest fans of the series. It's another way to access the famously addictive world of Civilization.

Didn't Ubi learn their lesson from the StarForce fiasco a few years back? I'm sorry, but I'm really starting to think that they're purposefully crippling their PC games to enrage PC gamers into boycotting them resulting in lower sales so that way they can stop developing PC games, claiming it's "not profitable enough".

In short: fuck you, Ubi. Fuck. You.

Thanks. I wish I could say it plays and sounds great, but I'm still waiting for it to get here

I was helping a buddy of mine buy his first classical guitar and while I was there, on a whim, I asked if they could special order this one. Not only was I amazed that they could, but I was amazed that it was $50 cheaper than most online places (musican's friend, sweetwater, guitar center, etc). Then I was stunned when I was able to talk him down in price by an additional $50 bucks
