You got a picture for comparison? No I don't mean a naked one, a clothed normal one!
I've already made it earlier I'm done making my point.
De ja vu? Wasn't this posted a while ago in the finished work gallery? I'm pretty sure it was.
Quote from JetsetlemmingSo I guess you must've just HATED Riddick going into third person for platforming and using healing devices, huh.
No, because I've never played it. I understand the need to go into first person for what it was doing. More to the point it seems you don't understand the need to when to change it and when to not.
Jesus. I feel fat just looking at it. ![]()
I'm not talking about fully 3rd person games though. I'm talking about 1st person games that remove you from that viewpoint for X reason.
It's great, anyone who actually says anything about the game's design choices gets labelled a whiner.
Really cool vid, man! But that oil refinery thing does NOT fit the scene.
You're letting that destroy the whole point of immersion. Immersion is nothing to do with who the character is - it's how you, as the character experience the world. And those two titles are peerless in their execution of it. Everything you do and see in those games happens to you in first person, you're never removed from it. Garrett narrates the mission because, well, it's cool! As soon as that's over with you become Garrett. And you don't need to be taken into third person for stealth, thief proved that. And well, I feel being taken out of first person in a rich detailed world which I expect DE3 to be will just break the whole atmosphere of the game for me. I never liked it in MSG, or any other game that's done it.
Does anyone else have invisible camp fires? This game is so unbelievably buggy it's hilarious. But yet soooo good. Gah.
Did she pose for that ![]()
Go play some looking glass / irrational games and get back to me on the immersion subject ![]()
I always found that being removed from first person detracts from the immersion of the game. You cease being the person and end up being a puppet master.
