A ladder system won't mean anything if the game still isn't fun to play.

I'm quite disappointed

It's just not Amnesia, only in name. It's more Dear Esther with a lamp and I mean no slight in that, but where has the Amensia style gone? Where has the lamp oil gone? The tinder boxes? The ladaudamdaudajdaanum? The sanity? Where has everything gone? For the first hour of the game I was exploring expecting to find some tinder or oil or something but there was nothing and that just isn't fun for me as I loved exploring and getting rewarded for it in the original That extra bit a lamp oil you found behind the crate in the damp corner in the cellar next to the blood and strange noises coming out of the walls that sounded like a guy crying out of his anus could make all the difference by giving me that bit more light and thus helping me to not shit my pants for that little bit longer.

It's still a good game, I can understand why others like it, but for me personally it isn't what I was hoping for.

Anyone else got it? Just played for 86 minutes and reached the church. Will post my thoughts tomorrow.

It makes sense for them to be using source though considering they were so versed with idtech. It isn't that much different.

I feel like I'm the only person here who actually likes Source The tools are outdated sure, but it looks great in the right hands (+the updates to it help again).

If amnesia was in the cryengine this would be it.

Or instead of touching it up more and getting more bored with it, use the positive feedback to fuel a new scene. Do a Diablo 3 styled scene or something, that'd be cool.
