SupCom 1 isn't on steam (or not for my region anyway).

Impulse has SupCom 1 + FA pretty cheap I think and they also released TA and are doing support/updates to it.

Got it because I love TA and the original Supreme Commander. I gotta say I'm very disappointed. I understand that SupCom 2 != SupCom, but they seem to have removed a substantial amount of what made SupCom/TA stand above every other RTS. After Playing SupCom 2, I didn't feel like I was playing anything special. It felt like I was playing every other run-of-the-mill RTS. Me and a buddy played a skirmish in SupCom 2. After the match we went and played a match of vanilla SupCom, almost with the same sense of urgency you get from walking out of the theater during a bad movie.Very disappointed

I 2nd that, finished the campaign and tried some online games,

I'm pretty good in FA but I get my ass kicked in SC2 and I can't learn from the replays because they don't show how the enemy researches.

Also the lack of the give feature means that the first team to loose a player is pretty much lost.

the longer you delay doing the suicide mission to more of your crew die. You can do one mission and no one will die.

    Spoiler tag just in case

Its suposed to be the other way from what I have read on forums, having no upgrades (that are only availeble when they are loyal?) kills part of your crew while the ships are fighting eatchother.

I did everything else before the suicide mission and only mordin died in the tubes. It seems to hapen with everybody that shoose him for that mission, so I have to replay it one day and try another party member.

And doesnt this mean the end of consoles and the return of pc ?

They could easily release a onlive console version if you ask me.

Irrelevant example. A car is an object that degrades and loses value over time.

Games degrade too over time if you ask me, issues supporting the newer OS,

Degrading graphics, and better cooler games comming out (wel once in a while anyway).

But I guess its easyer to trade with used games then used cars

Depends on your provider, I have scarlet adls2, its cheap and unlimited. My record is somewhere at 250 gb for a month.

    Ontopic,

Not looking forward to these kind of services.

I have a problem loading vmf's to XSi too, and I never had problems before, I think its vista 64 bit as it works fine on my laptop.

Anyway ontopic, i worked with mod tool and xsi 5 ,6 and 7.

I never had any problems exporting tough except with animations, have to know what flags to use in the exported dialog for that.

Anything you export needs to have a material assigned to it tough, the smd exporter ignores geometry that has no material on it.

    http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Category:XSI

Oh and the exporters are not availeble for the 64 bit version.

Love the game, would mod for it if I had the time :)

Wish my female elf could go down with Leliana but even with 100 friendly I can't.

I let morrigan sleep with Alistar too but got a save to check out what happens if I don't :P

Went trough all the origin story's and probably play 2-3 different characters and make some different choices.

Save to say Bioware is my new fav dev I should grab Mass Effect but i'm cheap and waiting for a bundle deal with ME2 :P

Morrigan keeps reminding me about Stargate tough :)

My favorite chars, Morrigan, Wynne, Lelliana, Allistar and dog.

Ogren was the last to join my party but his somments could sometimes make me laugh, wel and shale because I has issues to get the dlc working,

Shale is popular in my reroll, probably because his damage is a bit overpowered at my low level, his banging on the floor alone can kill enemy's so I send him in first as the friendly fire can also kill my party if they are hurt :P

Working with this engine/tool, wish the level design part was a bit better but its great for a newbie programmer like me to start with, plenty of documentation and helpfull community.

Hehe where did that come from, it was one of the first layout playtests of my level so I'm probably one of the guys running around in it, what makes it at least 9 months old.

I really doubt this is suposed to be promotional material :)

Thats where I worked at in Korea for 2 months, its Source (left 4 dead engine to be exact) and as he mentioned in the interview, the core team is very small.

As far as I know, Minh is the only mapper after I had to go.

Also he should have taken a screenshot with AA on

The map compiled but the error is shown when it tries to load the game with the map? (You are talking about HL2 right?)

I just turned off the automatic launch in the compile options and just load the game and map manually.

I think its only a problem when working on custom maps and there might be a fix by now but I never bothered to look it up as I'm used to manual loading a map now.

If its something else we need more information like a compile log

I believe the green is video related, you have a ati card like me?

A workaround might be to set a maximum render distance in worldspawn, i believe you get a black background that way, or the env_fog settings, I forget.

Otherwise you could consider disabling the sky visgroup and add a box around your map with the sky texture and a dark rexture on the bottom just to create the overview.

I did something simular just to remove rooftops on buildings that players could access.

Some other tip, cl_drawhud 0 also removes the 1024 marker so you have to use that one once you have the map fit to the box and are ready to make the screenshot :)

  • Gibbable prop gib to static in source

    • Bluestrike
    • August 19, 2009 at 8:24 AM

I only made one breakable prop and thats been a while,

but you could make the part that stays in one piece a seperate model thats a physics prop and a input enablebing motion on the break output of the gibbed model asuming they have a break output like func_breakable.

When following Pampers advice, check in the model browser if those props are in once piece, if they are, it can also be done with QC commands,

otherwise its probably using the medthod I mentioned

Cool stuff Kurt! You are one of the fastest and most hard working level designers I have ever met =)

I don't really apply anywhere tough all I got so far is from people that came to me.

I should probably try some different engines, downloaded the Crysis 2 sdk but never got to it,

got a bit into coding now and might just try a game on my own.

Also, I've been fiddling around with Insurgency in hammer, how come there are no official maps within the Croatian theatre seeing as there is plently of resources labelled as Croatia or Šibenik.

There is a completely done map but its collecting dust as it was decided to hold it back until we have matching player models.

To bad because Skybex put alot of work in it

Those props are on steam by accident and we are not removing them in case any custom map is using them.
