nothing wrong with this thread... maybe conserative americans simply shouldn't take part in serious discussions if they can't 'seriously discuss'.

    hammer, nail head.

    Now, on topic.

Personally, I think LBJ had him killed. Turns out that LBJ wasn't a bad president though, so I've got mixed feelings on the subject.

Also, for the record, Kennedy wasn't that great a president. As far as the last great democrat, I'm gonna say FDR. We need another man like him in our white house.

You moderating my messages reminds me of what Jesus once said to an angry mob in Bethlehem:

    Code
"Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her" Joh 8:7 .

The adulterous woman in this case is Kosmo, the angry mob is Posty and I am Jesus.

Oh would you go nail yourself to the cross already. Get over yourself.

People with aol speak arent defeated by moderating their messages or insulting them, but by responding to what they say (which most probably is just as ignorant as their english skills, but sometimes you are insulting geniuses).

I think you missed the aim of this whole debacle. It's to make it so that arguments from everyone aren't the average forums board fare. It also tends to weed out the morons who can't carry an argument without resorting to all caps or "no u" style arguments.

Typos yes, regular mispellings and AOL-speak no.

But as you can see from your misspelling 'mispellings' even if you know how the word is spelt, you still write it wrong, it's a basic motoric action of the hand, hard to fix. So that is why I said, be civilized with each other, and don't attack them with blind rage, it's not that people make typos and misspellings just to be a jackass.

But you are absolutely right with the AOL slang, that is used just to piss people.

Glad that you agree with me. Now can we close the thread?

I agree with you there posty, we should try to check that what we write is written atleast so that it doesn't make the point hard to understand. But as it clearly is, political discussion is about opinions, and respecting others opinions and choices. So even if some can stand few typos and few go mad over them, we should try to tolerate them atleast. If you can tolerate others opposing views, you very well can tolerate few typos.

So again, more than anything, let's be civilized towards each other.

Typos yes, regular mispellings and AOL-speak no.

Political Discussion is a place where people should be at least attempting to write coherently in an effort to get their points across and not look like third graders while doing so.

If you don't like the rules, don't post in Political Discussion. I will not tolerate AOL-speak and I do apologize to Kosmo about the "misspelt" incident, but over-all I'm trying to crack down on the spread of crap posts here in PD.

Again, if you don't like the rules, don't post in Political Discussion.

Nice, you broke your own thread.

I broke it. It's fixed. He mispelled "mispelled." He also mispelled "religious" again and I corrected that as well.

I said it was my brother, and two weeks into his basic training 9/11 happend. Right then we all knew he was going somewhere shitty, but he did it and he came back alive. I know, maybe we shouldnt be there, but what if we did nothing about this stuff? Should countries be allowed to make nuclear weapons? Do you actually trust countries that house terrorist's and manufacture nuclear weapons?

Bush allowed North Korea to get nukes, FYI. We haven't invaded them. Iraq had no nukes. Iran has access to them probably and we haven't invaded them either, just for notification.

but instead, we have white trash democrats like Cindy Sheehan protesting.

She lost a son you fucking retard. Until you do so likewise, join the military, or otherwise, you have no room to question her protest of this illegal war.

    Quote from johnm487

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10173879/It just makes me so mad. Aside from the war, and our president being a total idiot, the fact that theres people like this, makes me sick. Support your fucking troops, because there your brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles. Protesting a war doesnt do any fucking good, it just gives your troops low moral. They're over there in some shitty country, missing their families, and they look back home for support.

Protesting wars gets our troops home faster sometimes. Research: Vietnam. Nowadays we know that the soldiers are not at fault for the war that they are fighting and our fighting men and women are greeted with the affection they deserve. You can support the troops and oppose the war.

    Quote from johnm487

My brother was in Iraq for a year and i support him (even though were not on good terms at the moment), not because he was fighting a war, because hes been through hell, and he looked back home for suppor from his family and friends. and i gave his support. i talked to him online, on the phone, and i always told him he was doing a good job. He obviously didnt want to be there, but he was doing his job. So please, i ask you, you dont have to support a war, just support your troops.

And you can oppose the war and support the troops. Saying that it's unpatriotic to protest this war is fucking blind, it's ignorant and it's just patently dishonest to the fighting men and women on our nation's front lines. They're fighting for freedom and democracy, and we have the freedom to oppose our government's actions, such as this illegal war. Perhaps you are one of those "red-staters" that has forgot the true meaning of "freedom" shortly after our sitting president raped the word of any real meaning after using it 47+ times per speech and dragging its use through the mud of lies, backbiting, intrigue and political motive.

I attached some nice high rez photos of a Hind for you to check out for rivet size/spacing. Personally I'd ditch the hand-drawn normal map or make it more specific. It looks like it's in the scratches too. The scratches just look odd because it makes it look like the helicopter was following a gravel truck or plowing through a lot of underbrush.

The model looks very nice but the texture could use some serious work. It's scratchy and "fuzzy" looking over-all. Real metal doesn't look like that. If the paint was scratched or worn it would be so in very specific areas (around hatches, where people would touch it, where ammo and supplies are loaded in). Your lighting is also coming from every direction. This shows up most prominantly in that all your panels on the copter have a uniform outline of shine.

Also, remove the heighmap or make it much more specific. It looks like you got lazy and made it using the diffuse via a color-selection of lighter areas.

It's a good start but needs some heavy work to get it to "complete."

PS: Look at how modern military helicopters are painted. Lighter from below, camo/flatshade atop.

Good model construction. Unless they're aspen, those lighter ones are vastly too light. Up the contrast in any case.
