    Uh...this is really horrid.

Start over. Pick better fonts. Don't abuse the living shit out of filters. Take a look at other album art for an idea on composition and such.

Jesus Christ man, it looks like you made this in 5 minutes.

Actually. I don't care about videogame violence. It's the dumbfuck parents who can't read ratings on games that care about videogame violence. So sorry your electronic baby sitter turned out to be rated R.

Do you like making worlds? Howabout zombie filled cities? Well if you answered yes to both of these or merely uttered "gub? braaaaaaaaaaaains" then we're looking for you! Expiration is currently looking for help with the daunting task of creating an entire city (think GTA3 size) for its setting.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of:

    Efficient low-poly modelling

Efficient UVMapping (use of tiling textures on models and also conventional UVmapping).

Texturing is not mandatory, but a plus.

If you are interested, please leave me a message in this thread, or simply email me at [email protected] or alternatively hit me up on AIM at: PunkPosteh

A little sample of what style/polycount we're working with:

This is disturbing in and of itself. If anything, let stolve draw the new one. I don't think it needs remaking whatsoever in any case.

There's a bit of a debate foaming in the background about how "pro" mapcore is. How acceptably professional and presentable we are, as a whole, to the outside game design community.

There have been a few changes to my liking. Namely my cracking down on AOL-speak in Poli. Disc. and a quick hammer taken to those who try to sneak EOT-esque stuff out of EOT. However Stolve just messaged me and said that zilla just changed his idiotking avatar because it wasn't "pro" enough for the 'core. Come on. That's just petty. I know there's a contingent of 'core folks that don't like EOT, but it serves its purpose and is a bonding factor for more than a few 'core regulars. To change his avatar for the reason given is just rolleyes-tastic.

Every art forum I've ever been to has a goofy, pally, clique atmosphere and while being pro allows people to pretty much keep their avatars as they will so long as they're not intentionally offensive.

Let the stolve keep his old avatar

Sorry for the thumbnail, but this is something I've been working on for my zombie game, Expiration. I really liked how it turned out so I thought I'd share it with the rest of you all

This isn't for a next-gen game, but for a lower-rez, lower-tech game on Torque engine. So dumb crits about "needs spec map" or "lol 2D" can go fly a kite. Just to ward off the dumb folks before-hand.

Enjoy! As always, crits and comments are welcome.

I watched the teaser and I still have no idea what the hell the movie was about. The end of the Aztec empire?

The name Apocalypto made me immediately roll my eyes and think this was some sort of Gibson-gone-ga-ga-with-the-Jesus end-times flick. Thankfully it isn't. However, I still don't know what to make of it.

Oh I'm sorry you tried to nullify my points by insulting my work. That's a really prick thing to do. As if to imply by one line that was misdelivered, by one of you friends no less, somehow makes me a bad writer whose opinion about any particular piece of dialogue is somehow moot.

But hey, you're obviously right. You made a fairly innocent thread about a movie where we could share opinions; into a personal attack. Having now seen the light, King Kong was obviously great.

    Thanks Ted.

Oh McThreeway, come on man, it was just a playful jab in the ribs. I meant no harm by it, man. Sorry for ruffling your feathers.

"YOU WANT ME? TAKE ME. TAAAAKE MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"

I think stones about bad dialogue should remain pocketed until further notice

It's a dumb B movie action flick that can take itself a little too seriously at times and goes on a little too long for its own good, but it's not the worst movie I've ever had to sit through. That award goes to Left Behind.

Not a big fan of the new scheme, but I can't really put my finger on why. The buttons seem really quickly done. The title graphic looks odd to me but I think that's mostly because of the harsh black under the text of "mapcore" and the lack of anywhere near as strong a shadow under the cube.

Perhaps we could have a bit of an art contest for art schemes?

I liked the old art set, personally.

It all comes from a long-standing Puritanical reasoning of "Do as I say, not as I do."
