looks promising so far. wip part of the textures look crisp and uv layout seems efficient as well.
welcome to mapcore

company of heroes was pretty tough even on easiest mode. but then again im not really an rts player.
i definitely agree on that mafia racing mission being nasty. i actually downloaded a safegame to skip it.
call of cthulhu hat some difficult areas as well but not to the point where you start to get pissed off

nice stuff tomdon. keep it up - youre getting better and better

nice light colours and use of textures. wish it had just a few more organic looking shapes in it. seconding friechamps comment tho

heres a thread on polycount which shows how you can push those models a lot further.. be creative with your 'texturing'
i'd say its a nice start.. now take it to the next level and customize it!

thats definitely not safe for work. please put that in the thread title. the brief look i had looked kinda nice tho.

quite nice
i like the atmosphere and colours. could use a bit more vegetation and more decals i think. the red storefront looks out of place as well. you might want to retexture it?good luck with finishing it up

yes it is still beta. once it is over you will notice it because it wont work anymore (if your computer is connected to the internet that is)
the guy is working on some handy improvements like saving out templates, properly overlaying and blending between normalmaps, performance and other stuff.

oh damn

you should never use another games assets when making one.. only sample content that comes with the engine if its licensed. cleaning up the whole stuff afterwards is a real mess

Quote from ReNo
The first chase section is one of the finest "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck!" gaming moments I've ever had, and it manages to rekindle the same degree of panic and fear several other times through the game. The section on the lifeboat, for example. Wow

i wholeheartedly agree.. this is a secret gem and way underestimated. it sure looks dated and the characters look a bit weak but you get used to it soon when you notice how good the atmosphere is. it has very intense moments and some scary bits and it just makes you want to continue - thats where a lot of games fail these days (even gears of war if you ask me)
i definitely recommend this to anyone who likes creepy fps with a focus on adventure and solid storylines.

i love it. GTA is all about style and this trailer has a lot of it. texture res still sucks but theres not a lot they can do about it on a game with that kind of scale. but it seems they improved what they were able to with the lighting. love the shadows. they work perfectly for that kind of game.
their ad humor is brilliant as usual
