How do you post youtube videos in these new forums?
Every time i try to even paste a link it doesn't show up, keeps getting put in "media" brackets and never shows
Sorry for being a total nub.

I had a dream last night i was bouncing around Steam Workshop looking at player levels.
I found 2 levels I really liked and they looked really cool.
When I woke up, i drew the maps on paper.
So i basically stole a players level in my dreams.
Mapception.

yeah i've done 10 hour, 1080p streams on making levels in Nexuiz quite a few times actually... i wouldn't pay to watch it. But, i also wouldn't make people pay to watch me... its cool to get tips i guess.
i can see students or people with high levels of curiosty paying, or they're just high five happy

i'm not a fan of the newer mario karts, too much emphasis on physics took away from the fun imo

So yesterday while i was celebrating the new laws in Colorado... *cough* i decided to also make a super fast map to throw out to our community in support of our soon to drop 32 player support and deathmatch...
I chose to be a lame guy and remake Block Fort from Mario Kart 64... i tried to be as faithful as i could to the original dated look while squeezing in a bit of "sort of new"... Really i wanted a map that runs blazingly fast for this 32 player mode (if youre looking at the polycount in the top right, thats from the pickups which are scaled back in video settings).................and i was lazy.
Anyways, intentionally doing silly things like having a large, untextured brick texture wall, square everything, blah blah blah, let me do some neat things with materials at least. Of course, with anything that has high amounts of specularity, you really gotta see it in motion!
map was made with 18 textures (6 texture sets of Diffuse/Normal/HeightMap for Parallax Occlusion Mapping).
Once our Direct X 11 version drops this week i'll enable mesh tesselation on everything too.
Butt Fart... get it? Block Fortress? I took the B... and the F... and you know.... you get it.

will be released on Steam Workshop once the patch hits. Nothing like making and releasing a crappy map in one day

Hey guys,
We've publicly posted our 2012 IllFonic Art Test. This Art Test is given by me to candidates I feel have a lot of potential. Right now we're looking specifically for senior positions and not jr. or entry level. However, this Art Test gives jr and entry level people the ability to prove they have the knowledge and skill level of a Senior tier artist. This is part of our new plan to hire high end talent (that are paid very well too).
I designed this art test based off what i'd like to see on a candidates work. While some artists have banging portfolios, ive found more times than not, artists will often lie or over exaggerate some things on their portfolio. This especially targets how long it took someone to make something (which means more than how high quality you can get) and what exactly is your art in a scene full of other people's work too.
While it certainly is a demanding Art Test. I've received an art test of the almost exact same demand (minus specific instructions) from another AAA studio.
The project we are taking on in the immediate has a visual bar set to look better than the Samaritan demo from Epic games. So i'm not messing around with hiring. Some artists have such an exceptional portfolio and track record that an art test is not even needed.
you can take a look a look at it here:

we're going to be putting in a player speed scalar on custom matches

and yes, there are still some crashes, unfortunately we only have 2 testers so tracking them all down is a serious pain in our side still.
