    I don't like the bold words throughout the page. They seem a bit random and distracting. Let the words and the presentation call out what is important. Consider simplifying your text if you are concerned about not getting your point across. I'm also a bit confused about Trap, INC. The text claims it is slower and more strategic than most twitch based shooters, yet the video portrays the game as having faster movement speed and more sensitive aim than almost any shooter I can think of. If this is not how the game is (ie; the video rate is faster than normal) I would reconsider how you are presenting this project.

    Great photos, very sharp and great lighting. It's always funny to see what kind of folks are riding fixies.

    A few things I might mention, once a user jumps into the photos section, your Game Design section drops off the face of the earth and may be forgotten. I don't know if that's intentional, but something I noticed . I might also suggest making your links run horizontally as well, since your site already goes in that fashion. Like Philip said if you change the colors of your links from the default blue/purple to something custom as well as do something like make the letters all caps with a different font, that may make the overall presentation a lot more professional with hardly any work. Once in the photo section, you may want to have the different links (People, Places, Bikes, etc) on a line below your main links (Photos, Design, Contact) to push the idea that there are sub-pages.

    Took a break from ME2 this weekend to do a little more work. Think I'm finally happy with how it looks and just have some minor detailing to do to finish this off. C&C welcome as always.

    I don't know if it's my monitor settings, but the lighting seems really dark and flat. Don't be afraid to throw some really bright lights in there to give it some contrast. It kind of looks like you have some neat details in there, but it is hard to pick them out and I'm not sure where my eyes are supposed to be looking. Random stuff;

    Yes, game sales are not hurt badly during a recession. Venture capital and willing banks however are. Game production is a risky business which highly relies on those two things and is thereby hurt anyway.

    I've been annoyed as hell by this for a long time and didn't know what to search to fix it. Now I've found it :megaman:

    Scenario: A human being is typing or doing something that requires focus on a certain window, but then they go to launch a new program. To stay productive, they go back and continue typing or whatever they were doing while the new program is loading. When the program is finished loading, it steals the focus away and whatever was being done is now being done in the new active program, which often has screws things up pretty bad.

    Code
    Open your favorite registry editor.

    Navigate to this key: HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop.

    In the right details pane, double click the item ForegroundLockTimeout.

    In the value data field, set a hexadecimal value of 00030d40.

    Click OK and close the registry editor.
    Display More

    I found this site that shows what registry key to edit that prevents that from happening. Pretty safe and easy, and should have pretty good benefits on productivity. Cheers!

    If an entire server full of players can't stop one guy from getting 25 kills in a row, then they probably deserve to be nuked. I don't think it's going to be all that common.

    At work the monitor I have my browser on is maybe a 19" screen with a max res of 1280x1024 (not up to snuff). At home my monitor is 21" with a res 1680x1050, still not very wide. Both monitors are turned 90 degrees so they read more like a page, that's why the width is 1024-1050. I see most sites though at roughly this width and it's fine.

    For what it's worth, I have looked at the site a few times and didn't even notice you have a level design or resume section. My browsing monitor is set up vertically with a width of 1024, and your third column ends right on the edge of the page. This looks like a natural end, and it was easy for me to not even notice the scroll bar, in turn missing a major portion of your site. Consider changing it from 4x3 to a 3x4 layout.

    This game is pretty incredible so far. I can't remember the last game I have played so much on the same day. It has the best materials I have ever seen in a game, and the characters take the crown from MGS4. The flow got broken quite a bit for me on the mission where

    the player is running from a tank

    but otherwise is pretty solid. The only real gripes I have are with the cover system being a bit wonky like the first game, and picking up new weapons can be troublesome as you'll often drop your weapon right on top of the one you're trying to pick up.

    So I tried that mod, and it seems to have a brain disorder of its own. I got to a large room with cargo containers and didn't know what to do. Good thing Gordon Freeman has a PhD in Crate Stacking, as I built myself a tower of crates and climbed onto a catwalk and apparently broke the hell out of the map. Shame, because it was pretty neat up to the point I got lost. If anyone has gotten past that point, please fill me in and I will try to give it another go.

    It's pretty simple and effective, but almost too simple. Like someone suggested, you may just want to throw all your levels onto a single page. This way if someone doesn't happen to see those sections by the time they get to the bottom, they may think that's all there is. I also have no idea of knowing what kind of maps these are (ie; SP, or MP), what gameplay modes they support, whether you made custom art for them or not, what else you did, etc. One thing you can do is check out job listings for the job you want, and often times they will tell you how to structure your portfolio. Here is an example from iD's Level Designer opening;

    Applicants should provide specific examples of relevant work. These examples can be in the form of playable game levels, screenshots, scripting examples, video captures, or any other method that conveys the work being demonstrated. Examples should also include descriptions of exactly what the applicant is responsible for and what creative processes were used.
