Point taken NRG. If you do your research you'll find that we've been around for 6 years, have won numerious awards, and are highly respected in our community. Even so, that doesn't mean we have any bragging rights at all - we're not a successful company by any financial means, nor do we pretend to be. We're a group of filmmakers and artists who build our portfolios and occasionally are contracted by other companies.

Your point is very valid as a general rule. I just wanted to point out that GW has quite a positive reputation. I wouldn't want that repuatation tarnished by a generic piece of advice that was misinterpreted by forum readers.

The GW Films crew (makers of militia2, ClanWars, coL: Armageddon) is expanding!

So… guess what that means? We’re looking for more 3d modelers and photoshop artists. You don’t have to be an expert, nor dedicate your lives to us. This is casual work, sometimes paid, sometimes just for fun (depends who the project is for).

Either way, it’s a great opportunity to team up with the oldest and (arguably) most respected eSports/machinima production company in North America.

Drop a line at #gwfilms on gamesurge. Talk to gw|daniel (that’s me). Or email at [email protected]

3d Modeler position for a small television-style machinima project I am heading. This is a volunteer project involving roughly 10 people. We require a low poly character modeler to create realistic human characters with 5000-7000 polys (or as realistic as you can get under those restrictions). XSI is the preferred tool, but that's not a big issue.

Although the project is "volunteer" - there is already a secured distributor and once our payment is finalized your contract will also be revised to include payment. If the show generates positive ratings it could become a steady income for the next year.

Interested folks should get used to working largely unsupervised and not be a robot waiting to be told every detail (ie. use some of that creativity you were born with to spice up our ideas.) Also note that this is not a typical machinima series as it contains some very dark and serious content.

Send your resume with any relevant material to daniel.frome @ gwfilms.com (remove the spaces). No attachments larger than 20MB please.

Note: This is not the same project as advertised previously on the forums.

I'm seeking a source engine mapper and 3D modeler (3dsMAX or SoftImage) to join our movie team.

"A movie? wtf?" you say? Yes, making machinima films is a great alternative to creating a full blown MOD. A film shows off your talent to an en even bigger audience (even outside the gamer realm) and doesn't require long term commitment. Often modeling/mapping for film is even more challenging too.

So, if you're tired of working on dead end MOD teams, or want a new challenge, come work with us. We've got several award winning projects under our belt including Militia2 (mapped by Mojo) and the recent ClanWars (mapped by Daano). Due to the movie-friendly nature of the source engine you can expect source-movies to become just as frequent as MODs, so get it in on the action with an experienced team.

The new project in development is a futuristic action-thriller. Combine the movie "The Fugitive" and the TV show "24" - and you have a basic idea of film. The film will have all original content and characters.

We are ambitiously moving into source engine based films with the knowledge that it will lead to bigger opportunity than ever before.
