    Tintern

    single player HL2: Ep2 required

    unzip to \SourceMods\

    (packaged as a mod for your convenience;

other than some fonts, my map doesn't use anything you can't do with a standalone map.

VMF is in \mapsrc\ if you want to check it out)

Not really happy with how it looks, but I just want to push this out the door now.

    GAMEPLAY HINTS:

    1) Run down and grab it.

    2) Climb up and put it in the box.

    x) Use buttons and your gravity gun and suit sprint.

xx) Use healing pools. Sometimes a pool might be dry though.

    a) if you want, PM me a .dem of your playthrough

    b) too easy or too hard? why?

Oh, oops, I didn't read the post properly, just saw the screenshot and went with it. (As usual.)

The "1" or 1 shouldn't matter with boolean parameters like that. Hmm.

Well, if Hammer knows to display the specular like that AT ALL, you know it works. Make sure you're rebuilding your cubemaps and you have enough light sources to generate a proper cubemap at all.

Normal maps (or their envmapmasks, whatever) are broken in Hammer, and always show up as checkerboard textures. Once you load it in-game, it should work fine.

Some kind of ancient modernist palace, courtesy of Ico / Prince of Persia / Giorgio de Chirico / Luis Barragan. Still need to finish an art pass... then a gameplay scripting pass, then a 3D skybox. Looking to finish this weekend.

Woooooo c'mon people show your WIPs!... or start your entry right now!

Amazing art, but its to bad, there was zero destructibility.

Yeah, after Mech Assault series, I kinda expect destructible environments... BUT THEY ARE TOO PRETTY TO DESTROY

Warning: I've accidentally made a single player map with fun (and unique) combat, for a change. Beware.

Basically, you and your Hunter journey down to save the Hunter's friend, a Scanner that randomly drops mines. On the way there, you have to solve puzzles and fight a bunch of antlions. You only have a gravity gun. The abilities work surprisingly well together: you can't actually kill any antlions yourself, so you have to "setup" easy kills for the Hunter to do. I'm actually kind of impressed with myself for not fucking this up. Now to just finish some of the puzzles and make it look pretty...

I think I'll do a Barragan / arabic palace Ep2 map where you fight a hunter that has magic powers. EVERYONE DO SINGLE PLAYER!

    Skjalg: You need 2 players.

One player clicks "Bailiff" to host the game, then the other player on the LAN clicks "Debes" to join the game.

Sorry if that wasn't clear, I'll add that to the post...

    VERSION 0.9 IS OUT.

    http://www.blog.radiator.debacle.us/201 ... -beta.html

The setup, kinda like Spy Party: there's an island with lots of NPCs. You're Lucas Debes (17th century Danish priest) trying to escape the Faroe Islands in a rocketship, and you have to blend in and pretend to be an NPC to escape alive... or maybe you're the bailiff trying to kill him and/or sacrifice all the NPCs to Satan.

REMINDER: You need 2 players. One player clicks "Bailiff" to host the game, then the other player on the LAN clicks "Debes" to join the game.

It's really unpolished, but it's kinda fun already, or at least the dozens of times I've played it.

Windows and OSX builds. Only LAN works right now, sorry.

Next version, we'll try to get direct IP connection support in. Sorry.

... But if you have a friend on your LAN, try it out and tell me what you think. Peaaaace out.

Make sure for the Unity dimensions you say that the 32^3 bounds are based on you using the standard FPS controller dimensions (2 unit tall player), because really anyone could scale the player down to 0.25 units and make a huge level.

    If we go by Lunaran's player height rule (72 * 16 = 1152 for Source, 48 * 16 = 768 for Quake) then standard Unity is 2 * 16 = 32.

4 weeks is really long already.

I like those spiral pillar things... But seriously, way too much sharpen in these screenshots, and it'd be cool to credit the original author of those textures, Sock (http://www.simonoc.com/pages/materials/ ... /index.htm)

I think I'm gonna do a single player Unity thing for this, using the entity framework by Warby/Frie/et al.

In Unity, the default FPS player is 2 units tall, and 2 * 16 = 32...

So I guess it's more like 32^3 for people who want to use Unity.
