So, I was photographing the making off of a short film made in our school.

How much photoshop did you use to make the soft-focus parts look like that.. I mean those don't seem right.

Well, as far as I know the story the gunner had been teased all through his life, which I imagine is enough to turn just about anybody into a nuthead. Now when I first heard the news, I somehow instantly thought the guy must have bought his gun from this company called Terä-asekeskus (let's say.... blade center in english) which sells a shitload of guns, swords and knives and has pretty sick ads on their website.

I was right, the company locates in the same town. The creepy thing is that the company has many videos exactly like the "just testing my gun" one.

I also just found out that Finland has third most guns per capita in the world. However, gun ownership isn't very common, it's just that hunters have like ten guns each and other people don't have any.

At least 8 dead, the shooter shot himself in the head.

The page has collected some of the info on the guy.

We tested this with 60 seconds on the timer, which was hardly enough. And that's almost twice the standard time of any league that I know of.

It really looks good. But it's not a very good CS map when you think of playability. It's almost impossible to run from one bombsite to another and defuse, if somebody really tries to stop you you have no chance.

But now that we know that you can do such "real" forests with source.. How about a decent vietnam mod?

This is exactly what I mean. I don't know what kind of game is it ment for, but a giant headcrab kind of thingy that exposes the driver doesn't exactly scream danger. It doesn't matter how big you make the gun, it doesn't look like a really good design, and, unless it shoots projectiles, it shouldn't have a barrel either. So if it's some kind of an energy weapon, I'd recommend making look like something that comes from an actual spider..

Woah, ran around and it looked completely amazing. I especially loved the river area, basically because it made me think of all the things I should have done in De_cult, like the rocks at the end of the river, why didn't I think of that?

Then again, I don't know if it really makes a good CS map. The distance between the bombsites is pretty big, not a problem in itself, but when you take the amount of cover created by the foliage, it really makes defusing hard. The bombsites are at the small huts, and the CT would have to sit in a certain spot with almost no cover, while the bomb-defending T could just hide forever and then shoot the defuser.

    Btw.

This is what I'm currently shredding with. I usually use medium picks (I don't really like to use picks) but I've heard that beginners should use heavy picks to get a better response of how you are picking.

The microcube totally gets me. It's got only 2watts, but it gets you enough noise. On a really big pluss, it works for a couple of hours with nothing but batteries (if you wanna go on a little beach jam for example) and it has enough effects for me, phasers, flangers, distortions, acoustic simulation, tuning fork etc. And you can use headphones with it if you are living in a block apartment.

Well, if you want electrical, get electrical. Acoustic won't propably cut it for you, even if it is nice to play acoustic one later because of the nice soft feeling.

I don't know what kind of music do you like, but I could personally recommend ESP-LTD series, especially if you like metal music. There is a Les Paul model, and the 100-> series are ok quality.

I can't really help you with the amp, personally I have a Roland Microcube, which cost me about 90 euros and is a total charm.

  • How are you doing?

Well, I guess I'll have to start of what happened 2.. no, almost 3 years ago.. Has it really been that long?

To my complete surprise my girlfriend left me a week after my 18th birthday, for some guy I had never met before. That was pretty much enough to send me to the bottom of a bottle for the rest of the year. I don't think there was a single dry weekend for me between first of april to first of december. I spent all my time working, coming home from work and starting to booze up, usually till I passed out. I finally started to get a grip of my life in the early fall when I went back to school. Sadly I had told some very nice girls to fuck off before this, and I haven't had a real relationship since.

Well, I'm still pretty bitter about it, and have lost my respect for girls, especially when similiar things have happened to my friends since. It's sad but it's true.

I finished gymnasium with pretty decent marks and applied to Tampere Polytechnic University to become a bachelor of arts and media, and started my studies here three weeks ago, but before that I had to serve my time in the finnish military for nine months, a period of my life I regard as the most unnecessary one ever.

But now I'm here. I absolutely love my school and the people in here, and I think it's the only solid thing in my life right now. I'm living in Hervanta, a suburb in Tampere with an old friend of mine and another friend of his, but I don't really feel home here living with them and I'm thinking of moving again to an apartment of my own. I just wouldn't want to fuck my mates up like that, because they need me to pay part of the rent.

My father is still hoping a professional athlete of me, a vision I too had 8 years ago. It's been a very dear idea for him since and I really don't have the heart to tell him I'm not interested in it anymore.

My grandmother is dying of old age, she has severe dementia, and can't recognize us very well anymore, sometimes he thinks it's the 60's, 70's and so on.

I'm still battling alcoholism. I'm not self destructive anymore, but I definately drink too often. I'm also starting to gain some weight, and I have very dry and weak skin which causes a lot of problems to me.

I'm currently trying to learn the guitar, and I miss my dog.

Edit: And I still seriously play CS. I've been playing since 1999, in clans since 2001. I love the game, I hate pretty much everybody playing it. I've promised myself I will quit playing the game and start using linux or mac to ensure this if the scene doesn't heal up before january 2009, when I have played for 10 years.
