There are a LOT of scientists that don't believe in science then.
What scientists believe isnt science. What they do in their labs is. Im sure there are many scientists who believe Michael Jackson is a childrapist as well. Alot of scientists believe that god didnt make the universe, but they dont believe its impossible. Its just a choice, like religion.
And like Kosmo said, u might just have a very narrowminded idea of what god could be. A while ago ppl thought god made thunder, but nowadays ofcourse most ppl dont believe this anymore cuz its just sum clouds bumping into each other. Luckily there are scientific minds who realize that even this doesnt prove that God isnt behind every single strike of lightning
You both got me totally wrong. The topic is about a law in America, so naturally we are talking about christianity. I haven't said a word about other religions or their gods (except for my last post), nor should I.
And by the way: religion is not a choice (in most cases).

Actually there is a very valid argument behind what RD said there, I know this might sound ridiculous, but god just might not be what we think he is. If you take the good old Star Trek for example, in many occasions there is god presented, but in a form of evolved being, higher intellect and physical form, this suggest that these so called all powerful beings are infact gods, when we define human capabilities and compare ours to those of these supposed gods, anything that is more powerful than us is a god, or higher being, it does not neccessary need to be divine, what is divine to us, is undivine or nefarious to others. Completely outruling the existence of god is to outrule the existence of science, in a way, not meaning that if you are a holyroller you are an science extremist. But the views of people in different cultures and religions are so different that to someone that what is god is to another just a enlightened person, or just a normal person, he at the same time exists and doesn't.
Ofcourse, but we are talking about God, not a god.

"I don't know" is never a satisfying answer but it's better for me than something made up. I guess it's in people's nature to absolutely need an answer on things. People are stupid
Very true.
Quote from RDWe would still believe the earth was flat and throbbing around the moon if we were like that. How do u know we cant understand it yet? It only takes one genius to reveal the marvel
Admitting that we don't understand something doesn't mean we will eventually.

Some ppl create an (imaginary) god, and others are mindless zombies that never marvel at the mystery. Their deepest thought "it cant be god" blasphemizes the science and logic they worship and satisfies all curiosity their mindless atoms allow them to feel
And to say "it has to be God" is naive. Why can't people just settle for "we can't understand that yet"?

This is exactly what I meant by people clinging to the most irrelevant parts of a movie and then kind of "give up" on the film. Pathetic.
You obviously didnt read my earlier post, smartass. I liked the movie. A lot. That was just one thing that I really disliked.
But you wanted to leave because of one line so my reply is still valid.

lots of good comments guys. thx
. I have every Blizzard game on the PC, except diablo 1 & 2. heheI played Final Fantasy XI for a year, and it was alot of grinding for experience. Always fighting something, then u'd level down and spend few weeks trying to level back. The quests were fun like halloween and christmas, but they didn't provide any experience to the character, only that you unlocked more quests to do. It got really boring, fast. I really want a MMO where I can maybe play for a few hours every so often and have a good experience. Seems like alot of you play WoW, which is great! When I got to level 50 white mage, it was harder to find parties and spells were insanely expensive! Is it easy to go from town to town, or server to server? to meet people?
Is it important for a player to join a guild?
Don't know about WoW but in Guild Wars it's extremely easy to just quickly form a party for the next quest and play for an hour or two if you don't have much time.

Your saying all others on the internet besides me agree with you? You have proven my point.
And just for the record, I give it 5 out of 5.
No thats not what im saying. When judging a movie u dont just think of ur own opinion. U like it and give it 5 stars, but this has nothing to do with the movie really deserving it. Ur overlooking its obvious flaws becaus u liked the tripod sounds or somthing or u think u understand spielbergs deeper meaning. But u shouldnt have to read the original novel or investigate spielbergs motives to enjoy it.
This movie will definitely not go down history as a classic or a masterpiece. A 4 or 5 star movie is a classic masterpiece.
Like I said before, my opinion is totally non-biased.

GW and WoW are like BMW and Ferrari (though I haven't played WoW). Ferrari is an awesome car but BMW is also nice and costs a lot less. If money isn't a problem, go for WoW.

Dont tell me theres a deeper meaning to WotW
Simply put, it wasn't about the aliens destroying earth, it was about the family trying to survive it and it wouldn't have been a very interesting movie if they had died half way through it. This is mostly a science fiction drama, not an action film.
Realism doesn't make a movie better or worse, IMO (except for the acting). Like in Signs the aliens were total idiots, the water being their bane was stupid but I loved every second of the movie. It's a drama film in an unusual setting, not a realistic depiction of an alien invasion.
