2 days ago: I notice the website/store I plan on ordering my Canon EOS 20D from has it on sale until the 30th.
Yesterday: I desperately call my dad (who has a credit card), since he's out of town, getting the CC info. I get into contact with the store and order it -- they ship it overnight delivery that very day.
Today - 10:15am: It arrives.
I am now the proud owner of a Canon EOS 20D digital SLR 
I also ordered the 85mm f/1.8 USM lens instead of getting the shitty kit lens. I also have an old 50mm f/1.8 lens from around 1987.
Luckily, we just had a nice snowfall yesterday and it has been quite foggy. So, of course I wandered out today and here's a few shots (all from the 50mm):

The f/2.8L? God damn I want that lens so bad... I plan on getting the 20D in January (hopefully) as soon as I can afford it after I pay off my tuition for next term.
I shoot a lot of sports, so ideally I would love to have the f/2.8L 70-200mm... but MIGHT have to settle for the f/4L, even though I probably won't

Nice. What camera and lens?
As soon as I get INS rolling on the right track (i.e. released), I plan on getting on with life. Yeah, sure it's fun and all, but there's more to it. I don't want to get into the industry, so it kind of all seems like a waste.
I'm (finally) buying a Digital SLR as soon as I can afford it after paying off next term's tuition. That will really get me rolling better with photojournalism, which I hope to ultimately do with my life.
