my mage mostly has wisdom for mana, got something like 50 ... seems more effective to cast more spells than less with a bit more damage.

I play a mage and I mostly do damage but im also specced as a backup spirit healer, pimps when you spend time to setup several good tactics , i usually take control of alistar and tank encounters leaving my mage to kick ass/heal

yeah but even with nintendo's market share of people from the "less likely individual group" it only really works for family orientated games, all be it a big chunk of the market. Family films have always been successful at drawing in everyone but they are not going to be the core of the industry as a whole - just a part of it.

There does become a point when all industries dry out, meaning you reach the "supply" for the demand and unless the demand constantly increases something is going to give. I'm not suggesting we've hit that point yet but the raw amount of games being developed these days is absolutely insane. It's going to take another generation at least before we see allot more demand for main stream games IMO. The same happened for Cinemar, at one point it was booming then in the last 5 years it's been on a slow decline for one reason or another.

Things change and good companies adapt to surivive.

when I decided to not assist the dalvish elven leader dude, who created the curse on the humans and turned them into werewolves i killed him after a long fight, only to have the original encounter reset, all the dialog played but the keeper of the forest was turned into a white wolf :S then after it finished i did 1 hp damage to the elveish leader and then the proper event played

I've been playing the game pretty solid now for about 20 hours, it's incredible but they really should make "easy" what it suggests at the start. You need at least 10 hours and allot of patience for this game.

In a negative light this looks like EA is getting pushed out of their core market (maybe that's why EA stocks dropped after the announcement). For gamers this means that only the least risky titles to develop will see the light of day...

I don't think your average gamer will be partifucally upset by that, infact I'm sure thats what they want? Sure risky project are going to have a hard time, not just because of the current economic state but the very fact a risky project will and should alway be risky? Where there is risk there will be uncertainty.

It's awesome but I'm kind of pissed of with the amount of crashes I'm getting, the piss poor save system ... only will save when you enter combat not when traveling between zones etc and the typical bioware boss fights that I hated in Kotor, if you don't have the ideal setup sometimes they are WAY to hard if possible at all. Noticed plenty of bugs that are quite unacceptable ;p and I hate invisible walls blocking your path and im not talking about the ones stopping you falling off edges. I tried stealthing through the tutorial area because it was almost impossible even on easy, only to find out after getting to the level exit i was killed instantly because I didnt kill a certain NPC 2 rooms back ...

The art quality drops off sharply in some areas but thats to be expected in such a big game, music is pretty meh - Mass Effect was awesome because the futuristic theme, Dragon Age needs a real orchestra to pull off the proper LOTR feel, East West digital orchestras make me cry ;( More money needs to be invested into soundtracks because it's the only thing really lacking now.

Neverthe less it's really great, and will be MUCH more fun the second time through. Give me another 10 levels and I'll no doubt love it and call it GOTY

why oh why do they have to put stupid rock music to a great film like that oh I forgot it's the "cool" thing to do these days, completely opposite what was done before in effort to make a better remake, sigh ;(

looks like its just hardware occlusion? I know Cry engine and Unreal support this even if its not quite as accurate

Automatic occlusion doesnt particually help level designers, infact it has the tendancy to fool you into building environments that won't run well on target platforms, adding these things by hand gets everyone thinking about the actual problem which is how "much" can I draw, not what can I hide that should not been drawn. 2 Different subjects I know but they are very much the same thing at the end of the day.

Anyway cool tech that might speed production up.

lol dropbox rather than svn for a big project hmm, we tried it on NMRIH it's a logistical nightmare ... certainly not impossible though and SVN is really buggy.

dropbox is a great app, we now use it for source files on NMRIH rather than managing all game files.

Have you set specific light env HDR and LDR settings?

In Haditha I set both values rather than use the defaults of your light_environment entity. A good solution to fix allot of these issues is to delete and rebuild certain things, sometimes it can help you find the problem or at least fix it.

If you _REALLY_ can't fix it simple add a static car there
