Enough engine talk, what about the driver, wheels and track!

I think its a bit of an overreaction, I enjoyed the games up until the final, I also really enjoyed the games at ESL Frankfurt last month. It's true the final games where really disappointing, but IMO it's no different than any other sport where you can get some really shit games.
Lasts years TI was rat DOTA, the Chinese found a way to outplay it, and next year another play style will dominate that.
I suppose the only thing I'd prefer to see is more heros being used, than the shuffled 15 or so that get selected and banned every game.

with balls of steel, nah serious there is a crossing there with a middle area which is perfect for a camera

I think though, much like how hard it is to pick an engine for any given project, each have their own advantages - not to mention how time consuming it is to learn a new one. For me, it's more important to see the results, than give a monkey about what engine it actually is.
If it where up to me, contests would be on all engines, leaving it up to the person to decide which is best for them.

If we're mostly working with regards to level design, then it really has to be Source, due to the variety of games that use it and allow access to the editor.

Yup, but there are other options you know, other games, other engines ... it sounded like you'd prefer to add more details but you can't, but there's nothing stopping you from moving on and doing that

The maps still have room for improvement in other areas though, brushwork detail and scale is not what makes a "prettier" map

But this is 2014 ...

Checkout dragon age origins - if they claim it's closer to that then it could be awesome - not getting good vibes from the combat here though - the rest looks good ofc

As for a comparison with Skyrim, hmm, all I know is I played over 300 hours of both

-
also, slap a few taller structures, both in the play space and around it - will help to breakup that flat feel it has.
-
it has that Salarian science outpost vibe to it - but it could be a more residential area, very cool shapes.
-
also reminds me of cs_bikini

-
that's nice and clean visually, holds together well!
-
playing Tomb Raider, tis really solid, but god damn those frustrating quicktime events, what makes it worse is it's red text on a black background, what where they thinking?
-
really cool work!
-
just got democracy 3

-
there becomes a point when nerfing pc assets to console specs actually hurts the game play, sure, it's not competitive, but still ...you can tkae it quite far, just look at C3, then again it was not running at 30 fps on console

-
cool idea!!
-
didn't they just announce this game? isn't it weird that you can play it already or did I miss something?

this has me pumped, loved one of the other Battlefronts back in the day
