I feel like something is missing but I really don't know what it is.

Hey - the materials are very flat, more shine in them - to get a wetter look would help a lot, it always does with what I assume is an ice corridor.

Also, you have quite a bit of man made structures in there, it''s kinda weird, it's like they had walls but then they turned to ice. Or there was an ice corridor naturally and then they added some supports there for some reason? If you look at some ref you'll notice the occasional light, and some walking panels on the floor to not slip up all the time. Still this is not real life, but if you want it to make "sense" then it's a good place to start.

A good trick you can do, is to add the ice behind glass windows, which makes a little more sense,

hehe yeah the undo is really flaky - I usually save before undoing bsp changes, or simply delete it and start again ... yay for 0.5m grid

cool - at first glance it could be a little tight, people like to perform dodging (double tap movement direction) and I think in this map you'd get a bit stuck.

Also, when you have players shooting at you spaces feel even smaller, because your concentrating on shooting them - so I would scale up the corridors a bit. I think there was a map in UT, the castle in space, which was really narrow - it definitely was unique and can add a lot of fun if you get the right weapon.

I think UT had it's fair share of popular darker levels, the characters popped so much vs the environment it was ok in my mind, like always, the only real way to figure this out is to actually play the map with people, and that can be a big effort at this point in development, bots would help endlessly in early testing of a map - only takes a few mins to slap in waypoints in UT - or of they use the navmesh which would be almost instant.

Also how did you get those cool rings in your sky chris?

It's a primative with a additive texture and scaled to some insane size. Not very optimal but this is a whitebox

The barricades are, as a rule, only placed where you would fall to your death otherwise, and ideally should not block any combat, there could be a few that are problematic but I will zap those. You can easily jump over them if you want to die

Alright, so here are some very WIP screengrabs from the editor, I'll record a video showing some of the cool jumps and low gravity gameplay, I'm also still figuring out the layout and overall visual style so it's a little messy right now.

It's just too dark, I have a very bright monitor and I can barely even see - maybe it's just the screenshots though

I'm not sure of you need all those railings/walls preventing you from seeing/jumping around, DM games are not cover shooters - other than that, for some reason your map lacks massive amounts of contrast, I'd brighten it up a lot even if your going for a darker castle or something.

    Looks cool though ^^
