Yeah this game has a shit ton of lore, and it's prob the best game, even though I think the new one has something really going for it.

Ok so, it's been a long time coming, and no secret around these parts of town. But I'm ready to share this news with the rest of the interwebs now

I've resigned from Crytek and will be heading over to Epic Games, in the U.S of freaking A, in January 2015 to work on Fortnite and what ever goodness follows it. I've been at Crytek now for 6 years, and although recent times have not been the most motivating, it's been the best professional experience in my life. I've learned so much here, the people are great and the past projects where ambitious and energizing to work on. Not to mention some of the most insane (in a good way) people in the industry!
Epic is an exciting move for me, in some regards quite a comforting move, being used to dealing with the perils, that come with working at a company that pushes the boundary of technology. Fortnite screams fun to me, and I can't wait to be a part of the development team!
America is also a change for me, but I've been there enough to know I will fit in well, with my eccentric and excited personality.
So, 2015 will be a big year for me, new life, new company and new ways to see the world. I'm very excited and have needed this for a few years now!

You can say that again!
This is CG well done:

A lot of the shots are real animatronics, it's the combination of real, cgi and clever tricks that works. They have all the lighting and material information in the set to get the CGI dinosaur looking just right. Without that reference it's a guessing game.
Also, when you keep swapping around CGI, real life and matte paintings, the scene becomes very hard to work out, they cut quickly so you usually don't have time to figure it out.
Allot of shots in the movie are real - CGI only enhanced what could not be done practically.

This is true, it was a big mistake to make this the starting zone IMO, it defo feels like an MMO, but this zone only, the others are a nice blend of scenery, little encounters, crafting materials and typical side quests that even dragon age origins had.
The story missions are really cool, very creative so far and they remind me most of DAO
The characters, although some do not hold up well, are very well fleshed out, I love some of the personalities.
The combat, which IMO was pretty much perfect in DAO is not as good for sure, but it's passable, I feel the game on hardest difficulty would force me to use the rather flaky overhead camera. The effects are also overkill and distracting, to the point of not being able to read the battle, but at the same time the direction is more along the lines of a button basher with a more tactical depth than usual.
They added a proper crafting system, but the itemization in general is not as a cool as DAO - but it's not bad - I'm only 30 hours in and I did a lot of fluff, so towards the middle of the game it might be better to judge this.
The game is huge (not just a grind fest like you might of read incorrectly), beautiful, optimized, dynamic and alive. If you're a completionist, this game will drive you crazy, I'm not, I skipped most of the Hinterlands.
It's not as good as DAO for sure, and I feel if they'd of stuck to their original formula it would of been a better game, but they didn't and I don't really care because after "only" 30 hours+ playing it I want to keep going, it;s getting better and better,

you've already made up your mind then

I'm not sure where you heard that, it's been getting lots of praise. I love it - and I'm a huge critic of dragon age 2 lol

hehe I don't know, the score is quite minimal indeed, im listening to it now - problem for me was the awful sound quality in the cinema here in frankfurt - or the bad mixing in the audio which a lot of people are complaining about on IMDB.
The movies audio has INSANE dynamic range, often quiet then tons of shit at the same time, bass is overcooked and the main actors voice being deep doesn't help either.
Some people where even leaving the cinema as some scenes where just too loud and screechy!
So I think it's the sound mixing, which just didn't work for me and is by far the least impressive part of the movie IMO, maybe on blueray it will be better as it's easy to balance your profile for this at home if you care enough about it lol

I loved it, great acting, good plot that was quite believable, shit felt grounded but enough cool moments to make it entertaining. Was far enough out there to allow for some very awesome scenes without being completely nonsense.
Cinematography was jaw dropping, music fit perfectly, and the script had just enough humor to make it feel real.
I got a little muddled up at the end, which seemed to happen really fast and lacked the careful explanation they made earlier on in the movie, seemed a little rushed, as if it was easier to turn a blind eye to the science and theories there.
Nevertheless, brilliant movie, will buy on blueray and try to get my head around all the subplots and deeper meaning inside.

Rift, which admittedly launched as pay to play, went free to play - but they have a very interesting hybrid options for payment. You can buy the game and get shit tons of useful bonuses, they have a shop that allows you to buy stuff, none of which can't be earned fairly by just playing for free, a monthly subscription option and the regular free version without frustrating restrictions to the game play.. All content is available to everyone, except the odd cosmetic item.
This for me, is the future of online gaming, giving the individual a chance to decide what works for them.
Obviously you need to have your shit together, to pull off such a design and infrastructure, I'm not sure a small indy could pull this off. But for bigger budget games with entire departments dedicated to this stuff, it makes a lot of sense.

ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG - MY WIFE FOR HIRE! - LOTS OF SPERM

I used to play so many CS mods where you would have cool powers and could trigger unique abilities, it was awesome. I'm a huge fan of abilities in shooters, in fact I find them more fun than infinite variations of almost the same gun (only part of tf2 I don't really care about) to me - this is a natural and smart evolution of the shooter genre.
-
the gameplay should always make you a believer haha
-
sold, shit looks dope - got faith in execution, and if anyone executes a concept well tis Blizzard!

Doritos are freaking awesome when you've been living on paprika flavored chips for like 6 years

-
thematically, you could turn it into a kind of weather station, could be cool to have lightning strike those tall towers and then send a pulse of glowing lights racing through the map
- and awesome track btw lol -
that's really creative, love it
