I'm going to buy a place as soon as I get my credit rating high enough, oh the joys of moving to the USA ... feck this renting forever, don't care if I have to move away, don't care if I have to be a landlord one day. I'm single and can afford a very nice mortgage, screw giving that money to somebody else.
-
it's great, not that I'd tell the difference from other ones at that price, but it's well built and reliable. 3 or 4 people at Crytek have it and they all dig. It's rated up to 600ohm like just about every headphone amp ever.

If you get it, don't freak out if it's getting hot, when it's warmed up it can be almost too hot to touch, but that's just what it does.
You can replace the valve too, for ones with different audio characteristics, I'd only do that if it died though

These are for work, the others are at home
the AKG's actually don't need extra amplification, they are 32ohm, but I got the bravoaudio amplifier to warm the sound up a bit and give me a real volume control. -
Looking excellent.

No way it will max out sli 970's or 980's. if it does and still can't hit 30 fps the game is poorly optimized. Unless your one of the few people who want to game in 4k for what ever reason lol. Capping the framerate on what will be a benchmark game makes zero sense what so ever!

I thought PC games are the big shizzle right now.

Is the rumor true that they are locking the PC version to 30FPS so that it's similar to the console versions?
Total biscuit will go bat shit crazy if that's true lol - why would you possibly want to cap a pc games framerate?

Looks like the headphones i've got, AKG K550 right? How are you liking them? Great pair or cans for the money, only thing i find myself doing is pumping the bass up a little with an equaliser. I understand they're flat studio headphones but they need a bit more bass and they just come to life

Yeah, exactly, very happy with them so far, I like accurate studio sounding gear, and then warm it up a bit with some tweaks to the EQ. Big drivers like these take about 250 hours to really warm up, from what I've read online.

I've had the least problems with Microsoft mice actually, but it really is just a mouse lol, I used the same $2 logitec simple mouse for all 6 years at Crytek, I loved it!

What engine are you using?
IMO, this style should be grounded in some reality for it to make sense in the way you intend. Tron is a good example of clean dark scenes that have depth and look cool. If reality isn't your thing (computer simulation) then you need more grid lines and definition in the model itself, like in shadowrun ...

You defo need reflections, if your engine is outdated you can prob render a generic high res cubemap (blur it) Mass Effect 2 did this to great effect. If you have real time reflections like in U4 then you don't need to worry so much about it. They could become too messy in motion, so lowering the amount you see could help.
The dark surfaces still need some basic material definition, some kind of tiling generic grid like the panels in Portal 2 would work. The glow surface could use some bleed and if the engine doesnt simulate it automatically you could add a gradient in the model.
Focus on lighting and material definition, it's deceptively simple but I've heard it's really hard to pull off, especially last gen. If the scene becomes a little complicated visually, pull back or use colors to have various elements stand out.
Also, a trick in sci-fi or high tech is to use 45 degrees on corners etc, a circuit board is good to look at and study for shapes.

and trons more stylized but realistic rendered art style.
Sorry for the crappy formatting, I'm pretty busy!

I've had troubles with a specific mouse in the past, I gave up and got a new one. It had some weird conflicts. I've heard it's not that uncommon to have this happen.

just a pic with the text 1 million sales written on it ;p

For a shit your pants kind of game that's pretty good I guess.

Got a headphone amp and some new cans for work, love me some good audio to work with
