The optical zoom on a digital camera is just a sales trick. Its the digital zoom that "counts"...

I think you have that backwards.

Optical zoom is real zoom which involves several lens being adjusted in some way to allow to focus farther. Digital zoom is useless and should be disabled on your camera if you have it. Basically what digital zoom does is instead of altering the lens to allow you to see farther, it fakes it buy cropping and resizing your image into a lower-res, but "zoomed in" version.

Most advertisments for cameras like this will say something like "10x zoom!" when in fact you're paying for 4x optical zoom and 6x digital zoom.

I'm at Ravenport. What difficulty mode are you guys playing in? I'm playing in Hard and so far it's been pretty easy. The only part I've had to try more than probably 2-3 times has been a small sewer where I reached a save point with only like 20 health and a swarm of 6-8 of those flying blade things surrounds me.

I just get stuck at the loading screen. I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out. I haven't been able to see a menu, much less play it yet.

For those of you who like sexy Windows desktop... um... things.

    http://%7boption%7d

A few widgets I find useful are:

Kontent - RSS feeds; can customize them to your fav RSS feed providing websites.

The Weather - Displays the current weather, because I have to know at all times.

NoteBox - Puts a little text box on screen where you can keep notes; it saves your text.

And last of all, but obviously most important:

Gir 0.1 - Puts a little dancing Gir on your desktop that you can move around.

Warning! These little widgets can eat around 10 megs of memory each, so I wouldn't use too many of them. They're great if your computer has 1 gig of memory or more. What's the use of all that memory if your so concerned with keeping it freed up anyways?

Yeah I used Opera for the longest time, and the whole time I was thinking, "Geez this sucks". Then I got Firefox and haven't looked back since.

There's no better feeling than being able walk into a Best Buy or something and see YOUR game right there on the shelf. Shipping a game is probably one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment I've ever had.

TBH I'm not too keen about this movie, it sounds like a "cool movie for americans and very unfunny to other ppl" for me.

Quite the opposite actually. The whole point of the movie is making fun of America and it's foreign policies.

IRC bots and scripts are dumb and irritating. I care don't to see your system specs or current Winamp song being spammed in a channel. Unless it's for security reasons, it's shouldn't be there. But I guess it's probably the only way an IRC junkie can boost his ego/epenis/whateveryouwanttocallit.

About time the HL/CS community caught up. The HL/CS fanatics finally have a pretty looking game to scream about. (Disclaimer: Sarcastic comment - DD approved)

But seriously, it does indeed look good. I've never been much of a fan of CS, but I'll have to give it a retry when I find it on the shelf. I'm looking forward to playing HL2 though; looks like it'll be a fun game like the first.
