Silent Hill 3 did subways beautifully, and pretty scarily too. It could work, sure.

Well. It's not like I'd say no if I got the chance.

Oh definitely. It would be hard, but life moves on: a new country and a job designing levels would await - irresistable.

Looks decent mike, but it's badly in need of displacements. Some to make the ground more uneven, but especially some to create realistic cliffs - the current ones look sub-Hl1.

Getting a job in the US would be damn awesome. But I think it would be a lot of problems getting visa and stuff

    And leaving so much behind.

saw some mag scans of those pics a while ago, but yeah, looks nice. I'd just rather want a new unreal singleplayer game that had the feel of the original and not the lame sequel. But Im sure they're working on something like that as well

Seriously, I've lost count of how many have licensed out the Unreal 3 Engine for a FPS. One of them has to be a proper Unreal 3.

    A) The mapping is pretty rubbish.

    B) We have a 'My First Map(s)!' thread. Every single map you've posted so far should have been stuck in there, not given its own paptacular thread replete with 30x30 pixel flash montages.

C'mon man, you should know better!

    Yum graphics.

Glad they're harking back to the original UT gameplay somewhat; UT2003/4 paled in comparison.

Better not just be bullet time and Freud. I expect better from Remedy, they've got some top talent.

Well times have changed. Back in the days when the first beta for CS was released, competition was minimal compared to what it is now. People were inexperienced, everything new was cool and innovative. It didn't take much effort to get a custom cs map get played online on a full server. Today, it's next to impossible. As people gained experience the overall quality was pushed forward, giving birth to such mods as NS.

The world today, however, is different. The number of mods being worked on is tenfold. The HL1 engine was taken to the max and since source has pretty much the same tools, the average mod quality standard is by far higher and so it the tolerance level. People are more demanding and critical thanks to increased competition. First impressions play a much higher role now. A first release must offer more for it to succeed.

    Word. The beast has evolved.

I don't understand how my method doesn't solve your problem. Point a really intense light_spot through the window and the shadows on the other side will take the shape of the window.
