Well you could just choose to disregard all the cods that IW hasn't made. Like I do. Then its not so bad ![]()

My faith in microsoft has slowly been growing over the last year or so, so I'm hoping they get this right.

For a small project that students are going to create, then go for the engine that the programmer feels the most comfortable working with. Its way easier to create something in c# than it is in c++, so I can understand your programmer. And if you compare the two as level design tools then udk is more advanced out of the box, but theres so many 3rd party solutions for unity that you'd be silly to discount it on that basis alone.

You don't live that far away tho, right?

Anyone else going to malmö this year for the nordic game / unite nordic?

So I made my first ipad game where most of the code is by me. I don't think you guys are the right demographic as its a kids learning game but it was a fun process for me and I figured I'd share it here.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rascal-…&ign-mpt=uo%3D2
The game was made for a client, but I kind of went over budget (by about 80%) because I spent so much time polishing. (It was my first time estimating as well, so I guess I suck at estimating budgets).
Anyways, the game is about these rabbits that you have to give food so that they can cross the field. The field has a number of obstacles and you don't have endless resources. The levels at the end are actually rather difficult (meaning you actually have to think a little about how to solve them), which is fun
The app is supposed to learn kids some math. All art is done by the two artists here at rock pocket and game design by the client.

Time to open your wallets guys. Their kickstarter is live at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/krill…ep?ref=category
I've played the alpha version a couple of times and it is really fucking atmospheric and awesome. Everything about this game is good. It would be a real fucking shame if they didn't succeed with their kickstarter goal.

Sounds awesome. You guys coming to nordic game in malmö ?

but isn't that what the portfolio is for? I thought the cover letter was kind of more like something brief to make them motivated to look at your work.

That was amazing. I cant wait until this thing arrives at our office

Quote from insta
A employer is never going to hire a less skilled worker because of his/her coverletter, even though it runs at 28 fps and has stereo audio. Any time not spent on the actual content of the portfolio is pretty much wasted. IMHO~
I disagree. This shows initiative and the ability to think outside of the box, which any employer should look for (and hold in higher regard than the ability to create wonderful barrels and airplanes in a 3d tool as these things can be learned fairly quickly compared to thinking outside the box which is really fucking hard).

You can take me off from Rovio and move to Boomlagoon Ltd.

Boomlagoon Ltd (Helsinki, Finland)
Arttu 'skdr' Mäki - VP, Design
So you and a couple of other people from Rovio are creating your own company? Congrats
Best of luck to you

I just want to point out that the bug where you always end up at the first page when clicking "go to first unread post" is still there.
And its really fucking annoying

I love me some carmack, but he really should not focus on creating a single player game. Amazing tech & Multiplayer is always where Id has been best and I just hope to god that they realize this before it is too late.

fuck i have to stay away from this thread until i finish it. I got 1/4 through warbys post and was like FUCK SPOILERS FUCK

I dont like pay to win games, never has, never will.
And before you start arguing against this game being pay to win, then rest assured I also think magic the gathering is pay to win. Sure its all about building a deck and mastering the game, but before all that you have to actually "pay to win" (aka spend enough money to get the deck you want that is best in the current meta game).

I'm not going personally, but 3 from my team is. They are going to be in the unity section showing off oliver & spike and some assorted ipad games

-
I see a lot of numbers thrown around here about speaker set ups so I'm gonna throw another one into the mix and guess that its <1% of people who have more than 2 speakers (good ol stereo) on their gaming/movie setup.
To answer the question, I dont think its possible to solve your problem without a receiver. Try searching for something used? Theres bound to be some dusty old receiver somewhere that wants to be in your living room

Doesnt EA kind of have the market on sports games? Doesn't those games sell a truck load?
