Yeah I've also complained some about this.. It seems its only function is to really see what stands out (in my case its always the brushwork :/), and try to optimize that stuff..

I can understand your colleague, but having a child is something primal deep inside everyone of us.. you know, survival of the species. And the fact that she feels like a stranger, there you are spot on, she's not a mum so her sisters can't relate to her anymore..
