    Quote from Schmung

I tried starting a mod. Had all all the staff I'd ever need, but we just couldn't find a coder willing to invest the time or effort, whichw as a crying shame. It seems your mod is basically screwed unless the leader is the coder.

It is still a crying shame ... After TS 2.2 im sure we will have it all figured out

Hehe there is a part in the movie where they turn on the radio and it gives out one of the test emergency signal announcment deals and the guys goes "This is the emergency signal sound... this is only a test... if not a test an emergency official will come on and announce the emergency... this is only a test... thank you".... Now I understand why that was in the movie because of that radio broadcast

Rocked my world!! It is truly an amazing film... 2 hours of complete intensity. SS really did a great job directing this movie.

As for acting Dakota Fanning (the little girl from Man on Fire) did an excellent job as always. Suprisingly enough Tom Cruise did a great job playing the immature dad. I would suggest everyone sees this movie.... it is truly amazing.

  • Your best Battlefield 2 moment so far...

I think my favorite moment was when I was playing Mashtuur City on a 64 server. And right when the game started we all rushed to the nearest USMC point to which they could capture. There was a squad full Spec Ops who planted a bunch of C4 in a choke point where tanks and HummV's and APC's usually come through. Well they guessed right when we saw a convoy of them comming. With the USMC thinking their badass they hit the gas and speed into the choke point. As soon as the 2 tanks and 1 hummv and 1 apc were right on top of the c4 boom along with a good 15 soldiers walking with the convoy. And for whoever was still alive we unloaded on them. I was support so unloading is tons of fun hehe. It was just an amazing scene to witness.

Another time is when I was playing another City map but this one had black hawks. Anyways it was towards the end of the game and the Chinese had one spawn point captured. So I was on a chain gun in a full Black Hawk, the pilot takes us between two buildings that are crawling with chinese forces. He fly and gets level with the two roof tops and me and the other chain gunner just unload onto the top of the roof tops as the black hawk pilot does hovering 360's... It was all so much fun until three or four missles came flying at us blew us up.

This game is by far the one of the fun games I have played in a long time.

Whats everyones favorite kit, vechile and map

I love playing support, flying helicopter and my favorite map is Mashtuur City !

Picked up a copy today and man oh man... it is a lot of fun, though not as emersive as bf1942. In example, theres no subs, or battle ships. And only 2 kinds of helicopter and only 2 kinds of planes. Then all the ground vechiles which are alot of fun, but nothing thats really missing from the demo. But even though, nothing beats sitting gunner on a black-hawk and gunning down infantry crossing the bridge. hehehehe

Pretty cool, I really like the axe's head, but the handle texture needs to change, its to shiny.

specular maps are only good for props not textures and the Source engine hates Normal maps.. thats what most of the FPS drop is from if there is any at all. And thats why you rarely see Normal mapping through out the HL2 SP.

hmm I am going to have to disagree with some of these guys. Here is somethings that I noticed while looking at your screenies.

Alot of the lights arent parents so they dont properly light well (i.e. 1st screenshot, top right of the picture you will noticed that only the bottom face is lit, when actually all 5 faces of the light shout be white also.)

Your missing cube maps in certain places, it is easy to spot the sunset reflection of the specular maps on the props. So make sure you properly use the cube maps to get the right reflection surface and not a mix and match of colors on the models.

Tid bits: Bulky stairs over the train (not to appealing). Randomly placed props to fill up space and have no apparent value... just space fillers (i.e. white cylinder type things on the wall and the humongous machine by the stairs..... thats a filter tank....). Generic texture used through out map on the walls. I would suggest using a more variation of textures and trims to provide a more visually appealing to the public. One texture for all the ways seems a little dull then usual.

I hope this helps a little. Keep up the work.

This is a great idea and I would love to help. I see this project less of a "make a good map and release to the public" But instead a way for people, new to level designing, to view others works and practice the new styles only to become better. And when people like CJ.."unkie" are on the team the "newbs" can look at his work and gain a great amount of experience from looking at his work first hand. So I would be glad to help out.... a little though.
