Now that's a GREAT example

Great shots! I love this one:

Awesome! I was doing that stuff few years ago, pretty hard actually!

What, there will be a PC version?
-
max polys per model?
-
Also, are you going to get a industry job with HL1 map screenshots? Where's all the Source stuff you did while ago?
-
Design your own layout.

Looks pretty solid to me! I think exterior areas needs some more texture and heigh variation.
edit: oh and you should've created this thread to "Finished Work" area because you're releasing the beta.

Nice work ripping the first level from Half-Life 2

Yeah, not sure what kind of versions they have atm, but by the time I bough my HL2 there was 3 versions, standars, colector and gold edition.
The colector edition lets you play most of the games ever released on steam without need to pay for them, eg KungFu, darwinia, HL1, CS1.6, etc, etc, etc...
I had to pay for HL2 EP1 though
Also Im not sure if The Ship will be free on my steam acc, but I can't download it this month, I already crossed my ISP bandwith traffic!
Yes, the collector's edition included HL2, CS: Source etc. but it doesnt let you play all future Valve games. You have to buy them. Also there are demos for Ragdoll KungFu and Darwina for free. You won't get The Ship free, you have to buy it just like every other new game released on Steam.
When you bought collector's edition, it doesn't mean that you get ALL stuff free including future Valve stuff, just the stuff that was out at that point.

It seems that you resized the original image to bigger one which makes it so blurred. How big is the ref picture?

Looks hawt!
BUT please, is it that hard to apply antialiasing while taking screenshots?

Depth of Field and Motion Blur can't be done in Source at realtime, the previous DoDS video that had them had it and iirc it rendered at 1 frame every 1-5 seconds. So it just lost a bit of its prettyness, the style looks excellent I'll admit however. I don't know how it will look with multiples of these very heavily stylised characters running around, they look great by themselves but with 8 of them onscreen I think it will loose the wow.
Your negativity/pessimism in forum posts amazes me everytime.
Valve reps. said that all the animations (including facial animations) are used in real INGAME, except Spy's animation which is still "under construction". Everything you see in that trailer is INGAME excluding the post-processing filters like dof and motion blur. Valve is actually working on these too so they can bring it to current gen gpu's and processors. I don't understand how you can say it's scripted?
Btw, when has Valve actually made a trailer/teaser for a big scale game that shows the "real gameplay" from first person view? Valve is doing cinematic trailers and they're doing pretty damn good work on them too.
Can't complain.
