    Yeah I forgot to mention the "impress friends" part. Since stuff like this almost ALWAYS happens in a group the kids would probably do it as a small fun competition of who goes the furthest

    One of my ex-girlfriends is muslim and she's pretty normal as far as clothing goes. She probably wouldn't wear kinky stuff like a mini skirt though. The religion is pretty clear about the fact that muslim women shouldn't dress kinky and look "sexy" in the sense of lying on a beach in a bikini where hundres of men can stare at them... They are not supposed to show certain areas of their body in public but they respect that and live with it. It's that simple. Many of them probably don't even WANT to dress sexy because they'd feel uncomfortable. It's just a matter of how you are brought up and what you are told is wrong and right.

    Integration doesn't mean you have to abandon your roots and core beliefs.

    Well I think they don't really think about the impacts of what they are doing. Like if a bunch of 15 year olds smash a sandbox they probably aren't gonna think "oh shit... I just smashed that sandbox, now the younger kids cant use it anymore and it's gonna cost somebody a lot of money to rebuild it".... they would think "hey this is fun because it's not allowed and we might get caught...oooh I'm so excited!!!" *smash* *smash* *smash*... I think it's the mere fact that those people KNOW that they shouldn't be doing it that encourages them to do it.... The thrill of doing something forbidden and getting away with it and the danger of being caught... I remember when me and a friend were in our teens and we'd ride our bikes on some parking lot and hang around... Sometimes there would be bottles lying around and we'd throw them and watch them burst...Same idea, we didn't have a reason to do it... but we knew it was forbidden and that and the fun of watching the glass burst...well it was just fun They might also do it to piss people off on purpose, like the thing with the swings "hahah can you imagine a 4 year old trying to reach that swing? lol we're so mean"

  • anyone else having crash problems with HL2 Episode 1?

    I'm too scared to look into the other thread cause there might be spoilers so I opened a new one. I'm still in the middle of playing but I experience a lot of crashes where the game just freezes (sound keeps looping etc.) and sometimes it closes and goes to desktop and re-opens steam and displays the latest steam update. Anyone else experience this?

    And yeah, no spoilers in here please

    or carry an unloaded gun. nobody has to know its not loaded. but if somebody pulls a knife on you, you just pull out the gun and aim. that should cause some distraction and maybe give you enough time to make a run for it.

    They will keep doing it as long as enough people put up with it and surrender what SHOULD BE for granted.

    Let's say you are an artist or animator in a big company and you want to negotiate your raise... Well the company doesn't have to give you shit because they can just hire an other noob student off the street and pay him a shit salary for the same job. Sure the guy might not be as good as you but in the end the game is still gonna sell and the company will have saved a few dollars. Sooo many people want to work in the industry just so they can say "I WORK IN THE GAMES INDUSTRY" or because they think "it's a cool job", and they will put up with whatever abusive behaviour is being thrown their way, they will accept below average salaries and crap working conditions. This signals to the company that they can keep doing what they are doing, all the while saving money in the process. So yeah, as long as people give this power to game studios, they will keep abusing it for their own good so that maybe in a year or two some high up executive can buy himself a new Ferrari. And let's be honest... if you were that high up executive, ... wouldn't you?

    I think that's a very naive way of looking at the situation and you will realize this once you start working...

    That doesnt make the video any more useful.... it doesnt show anything... I'm not too big on these conspiracy theories but you'd think if they actually wanted to de-bunk these things once and for all they would release something better than a crappy "video" like that.
