from what i've been seeing, the eu has a problem with microsoft trying to get rid of competition and is forcing them to do things like provide the option to use competitor's products ( choose from wmp or winamp or mmjb). which is sort of silly.

it would be neater if the texture artists made a bunh of textures and just rextures on requests and the modelers did the same so it could be a culmination of mapcore.

i started doing a little map based on some random tiny italy in the middle of a lake in northern italy, there are like 5 pictures of the place on google images. all are exteriors taken fro the east side. i went on flickr and webshots and they have tons and tons of pictures of the place, many good for textures and many of them are big. if you are looking for ref pics of a location:
if you google photo sharing there are a bunch of similar websits that have archives of peoples' personal pictures
