thats crazy, dont you have cabs?

so i'm going to leave thursday night to go to school, stay in a hotel, and go to orientation and stuff. I faxed in my housing request last monday to get a dorm room. when i called on friday i was told i was on a waiting list. i called back to day to ask if i have a number in line and some other stuff. i found that while im on the waiting list, i'm close enough to being let into a room that i can go into temporary housing. that means i can stay in a large room with 10-15 other people in a dorm complex 3 miles from campus. one of the main reasons i wanted to go away was to not commute to school, but i'm going to have to take a bus to class which blows. hopefully the "temporary" housing is short lived. i sent my app in on the 11th and they are letting in students who applied on the 26th as of this morning. i guess if people don't show/drop out/whatever i get their spot.

also i'm going to pick classes on friday, two days before school starts, i hope im not stuck with shitty classes, i need to get a job to work around my schedule. on top of all this, may can wont pass inspection for a random abs problem and my attempts to fix it have failed, i need to mail a part back to a manufacturer to check it and then they send it back or something. but i wont be at home. so heres to hoping that passing through 3 toll booths wont net me a ticket. i guess i might have to bring it to an audi dealer at school.

photoshop, atleast 7, has issues opening pdf files, especially when they're giant, it creates crazy lines and messes areas up totally like this:

i dont know what you're talking about at the end there, do you mean use a printer that prints on a long spool of paper? i dont have one of those.

So I'm kinda into last.fm and they have an API that allows external applications to use user's data. One of them is called Last Graph:

    http://lastgraph3.aeracode.org/

Which creates a badass chart based on the volume of songs you've listen to by artist. So I thought it would be badass to turn the chart into a wall poster, which I did:

    http://zeroproof.com/bicball/musicwave.jpg

However it was no easy task whatsoever. I had to begin with a PDF of the chart. I found some free program that would let me turn the pdf into a jpg by printing the pdf and choosing the program as my printer. I picked a high resolution and got a somewhat big jpg. It took a long time but it worked for the most part. From there I'm stuck with a wide-ass jpg. I can't find any program to split a picture across multiple pages. I resorted to manually resizing the chart until it was wide enough to span a page and then figuring out exactly how tall the chart was per page. Then I sliced the thing up and printed separate pages. Is there some kind of app I can use to make the slicing part easier? Also is there a better way to convert a pdf to a jpg, the one I'm using leaves a watermark.

Once I get it down to a science I wanna have it printed by a good place at a real high dpi (the band names get really small if you listen to a little bit of them) and make a cool poster. The B&W thing is temporary, however I think its still cool.

when it's "fresh" it's pretty good, however the day after its very clear that theres so much artificial shit in it. the fries are the worst part. they were delicious 12 hours earlier, but later on they had the consistency of cardboard and tasted awful

i find that on mapcore 99% of my posts end up being the last or second to last post on a page of a thread and it always makes me angry

if im going to post these once a year im posting about more than a day!

so im on summer break, working 5 days a week, work is real slow at the restaurant because its a seasonal thing. 2 weeks ago the general manager cut my two best shifts from me which really upset me.

i went to see stone temple pilots last wednesday and then peter frampton and jethro tull last friday which was cool.

on monday i stayed late at work with a few people and drank a lil at the bar. on tuesday we all went to the beach together. i gave blood after.

wednesday i went to work at 5:45. it was immediately very busy and the chef was a giant douche on top of already being a giant douche like always. he was so douchy one of the servers walked out. so...three of us had to handle the whole floor. i was rocking 6 tables the whole night and made a good amount of money. midway through the night the girl who left's uncle came in and yelled at the chef and it was one of the greatest things ever.

one of the girls we work with was a guest bartender at some nearby bar so probably 12-13 people that we work with all went to the place after work. we had a good time, i was cranky because i worked all day and didn't really eat and the bar's cook left. so after giving a pint of blood the previous day, eating next to nothing, and drinking a whole lot i got pretty drunk. come leaving time everyone piled into one car and two of us were somewhat stranded. all we got was "take a cab, there's a cab place at the train station" (across the street). there wasn't. they didn't wait. so...the two of us walked like a mile completely drunk while i sent some angry text messages to the people in the car. the other kids sister picked us up, we stopped at burger king and i was dropped off at home. i put the bk down, puked, and went to sleep. i attempted to taste the burger today and puked some more.

oh and i'm going away to school for the first time in less than two weeks and told my manager i'm done there on wednesday. fuck you shift thief.
