how is it?
I'm enjoying it. The demo definitely grew on me after a few play throughs and I figured the combat/loot was enough to to convince me to grab it. I'm only about 3 hours or so in on my first character but it's fun. You won't necessarily get the depth of combat you'd find in Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden but I think the combat itself is a great translation of the Diablo click-fest ARPG's for the console, even though it does comes off as a little effortless at first, I'm hoping the difficulty ramps up a bit as I go further.
Also the music kicks ass, easily one of it's biggest highlights, it really picks up for where the story and dialogue fall short, which is this weird combination of Sci-Fi camp and Norse Mythology god-name droping. I like the environments and the idea of the universe, I'm just not completely sold on how they pulled it off.
I can see why the game's been so polarizing for people, but I think it's worth the time. It does some interesting stuff, the demo is worth a whirl at the very least.
Finally got enough excuses to buy an Xbox. And wow, say what you want about the PS3 price tag, at least it comes with everything. It'll cost me another £80 for a wireless controller than doesn't run on AA batteries and a wireless internet adaptor. It also crashed 5 minutes after I turned it on, and my d-pad is not just "bad," as they notoriously are, it actually doesn't detect me pressing down more than 3 times in a row because it collides with the pointless plastic circle it lives in.
But then I got some games and felt better about the whole thing:
Ninja Gaiden II, Braid, Ikaruga, Triggerheart, Galaga Legions, Pacman CE, Geometry Wars 2

Definitely the best book i read this year so far. Incredibly disturbing.
Needs to be read listening to some "godspeed you black emperor!" ![]()
Edit : i saw that there is a movie based on the novel which is already in post production, directed by John Hillcoat featuring Viggo Mortensen as the first role.
Looks pretty damn good!

the guy who wrote that also wrote no country for old men ![]()
I'm sorry for your mom e-freak, hopefully she'll be back on her feet soon. ![]()
Be sure your mom likes bad ending stories, because I'm not sure this is the kind of book to everyone taste, it's a pretty particular experience which needs to be taken seriously if you want to enjoy it, otherwise you'll have a bad time. Look at the plot summary on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road
whats so bad about the ending? ![]()
Well i don't know if you've read it kt, and i don't want to spoil anyone. It depends of your interpretation really.
QuoteTo me, it's a bad ending. Indeed, the beautiful part is that the efforts of the father to keep his son alive were not in vain. After the father's death, the boy comes across some survivors who take him with them. He'll live a bit more longer, yes; but in a world where living become something without any sense, with no other goal than the straight line to death (the road).
I read no country for old men, and by god it's the best book I've read in 10 years (I don't read much but still). I might have to pick up this one aswell.
