The only way this movie could have sparked a little interest for me was if the main horse was a Tobiano Pinto (my favourite horse breed).

Shit that sounds bad I wish him the best, he was one of the most inspiring members for me in this board back in 2004 or so. He was the one who gave me moderator status and even though we always tried our best to piss him off he always took everything with humor. Except for when postman started censuring posts at will, I never saw him lose his nerve/humor with anything else. He even put up a poll once to decide if EOT should be shut off or not. I remember me & the gang registering multiple accounts to vote against it. Good times

Restarting the game playing as a middle-aged hispanic woman named Consuelo. Also turned Hardcore mode off as that added nothing to the experience. Let's see if it gets better this way!

Started playing New Vegas last weekend. Is it just me or is this game vastly inferior to Fallout 3? I'm 6 hours into it and I already lost all my interest. I'll try to keep on playing to see if grows on me (Fallout 3 took maybe 7 or 8 hours to really grow on me). Here are my grips with it:

* This game is easy. I'm only 6 hours into it and I can already kill most people with a single headshot using VATS. This is so ridiculous that I can already score headshots from quite a distance with ease. I don't have many points in the gun skill and I'm using pretty a average weapon (9mm pistol). The only time I have died so far was when I was attacked by a pack of geckos when I was on level 2. Oh and I also have a robot companion (that I fixed using spare parts even though my repair skill is pretty low) that has an infinite laser gun. I'm seriously considering abandoning this guy somewhere because the game got ridiculously easy since it started hanging out with me.

* The plot is pretty boring so far. It started off much much worse than Fallout 3 imo. I always heard that this game was more similar to Fo2 than Fo3 but the only similarities I'm seeing are cosmetic. The dialogue trees are one sided most of the times, which means that roleplaying element is close to zero. You just pick random questions and your answers always have the same result in the end. That first city is so boring and lifeless that I feel like going over there and killing everyone. Check out how many dialogue options are available in a common Fo2 conversation:

* This game is ugly. And I mean it. I won't even talk about the environment assets because it's pretty clear how bad they are but for some reason the devs completely screwed the day night cycle. Fo3 was awesome in this regard - I usually found myself watching the sunset or the night sky in Fo3, but in New Vegas this is non existent. The sky is always purple, no matter what time it is.

* The "hardcore" mode doesn't add any of the tension I was expecting. Sure you can cook your own food but why care about that if you can buy food for really cheap in bars? You also need to go to campsites to cook food and they are pretty scarce.

The interior areas look gorgeous, but the exterior is really lacking in the lighting department. I'm not a fan of that color palette. If you still want to keep the sunset setting, I'd recommend setting the light_env's pitch to a much lower value (10 or so) so that only hints of orange are visible. An entire map tinted orange is not cool imo!
