Whatever happens, anything can have positive consequences in the long run if you keep a positive mindset and learn from life. I've been through a lay off before, was angry and that forced me to work hard on my shit which eventually lead me to get a job at Blizzard. I would probably be somewhere else now if that hadn't happened.
If you lose your job now, you will have plenty of time to focus on your baby during the first critical months. Which parents have that opportunity nowadays? Even if you go through some financial hardship in the coming months, I'm sure your baby will appreciate the time you spent with him/her forever should that happen.
Sometimes when we look back there are "coincidences" which have very positive impact in our lives in the long run, and maybe this is one of those cases. Don't freak out and stay aware at all times
Watched the new Planet of the Apes, was a bit skeptical about it but as far as sci-fi movies go these days this is a good one. I like how they expanded the universe rather than remaking a classic (like the Tim Burton fiasco). Looking forward to the new one now

It's a shame the guy pulled the game though, he could have just changed the art assets quickly and sell the game to EA.
This game is awesome, it's even better now that they added a career mode. I still miss some kind of clearer guidance though, I wish the objectives were more clearly listed ingame
Anyways, highly recommended, made me understand several space exploration concepts and maneuvers better!
I fucking hate this trend of the most popular games being so dumbed down that they boil down to just taping a screen on the right time to beat a high score.
These kind of games are very accessible to people who never played games, but to be honest they would be better off not playing games at all than playing crap like this. Example, I tried to download some cool games for my mom's tablet when I visited her last year but all I could find were those kind of games and to be honest she enjoyed the hell out of those. She and her husband were playing those games until 3 am every single day. I wish she would have the same interest and open-mindness to try simple DS games like Mario, Animal Crossing or anything else that's remotely mentally challenging, I dunno, maybe Sim City or even The Sims? But since those are on "game consoles" they automatically think it's a kids device and completely out of their reality. What good memories does one get from games like Angry Birds, Flappy whatever or fruit ninja? "Oh I remember that time when I beat my high score while I was masturbating" is the best one I could think of lol.
Just to make it clear, there's no problem with playing these games to relax a bit... I think the problem is when people (like my mother) only play those games and automatically shut their minds off to anything else.

Just the kind of shit I expect from american companies these days. This country is run by companies for companies, consumers have no voice at all other than boycotting, but even that becomes virtually impossible when you notice that a few megacorporations control everything... I noticed that my internet became shittier and shitter for netflix recently, I thought I was just hallucinating, but maybe that's not the case? Does anybody know any place to complain about shit like that here, other than internet forums or posting shit on facebook?
Brazil is a pretty fucked up country and we got a lot of things wrong, but at least we have governmental agencies that take care of consumer complaints and help people go to court if needed. If I feel like a company is ripping me off in Brazil I can just complain to the government, and if enough people complain they are forced to take action.

Good reply You clearly know much more about Bitcoin than me, so I'll break down my points and you point out if I'm talking out of my ass or not:
By fiat currency I mean that Bitcoin is not backed by anything physical, but by the computational power of its network.
Since computational power doubles every few years, this means that if there's enough acceptance of any other cryptocurrency (that's also backed by the computational power of its network) Bitcoin is going to lose its value in the long run, since from what I understand, Bitcoin's value is highly dependent on the fact that its backed by the world's largest computational network. This could easily change if banks and governments decide to launch their own cryptocurrency protocol, make it highly regulated and pass a law to make it a norm. This solution seems a lot more likely to me than banks and governments just accepting something they can't control as standard. I can't remember if such a thing ever happened in the US... even the internet is controllable to some extent.
The way currency markets work around the world is by trust. For example, the Dollar is backed by government debt and oil (petrodollar), so as long as those are going well the FED can keep printing new bills as much as they please because people will trust them anyway. But if they fuck up only once, like defaulting on a debt, that could make the entire currency extremely volatile, because people would panic after any bad news and sell their dollars as quickly as possible. At least that's how it works in every other country.
The same could happen to Bitcoin at any time. Let's say, in a few years from now when Bitcoin is largely adopted by most people, there's a megacatastrophe somewhere (such as hurricane Katrina) and the people who depend on Bitcoin in that area aren't be able to use their bitcoins since internet access would be down. Something like that could show how cryptocurrencies are fragile and create a panic. Imagine you are in a city with a major hurricane coming your way, after hearing news like the one above the first thing you would do would be to get rid of your bitcoins, since they would be worthless anyway in such a scenario.
I'm not talking about extinction level events that happen like every thousand years, but major catastrophes that happen every once in a while (Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Katrina, earthquake/tsunami in Japan, Typhoons in Asia etc) that take the internet down where they hit.
How can you trust something that can go down so easily?
My problem with Bitcoin is that you are switching from a fiat currency to another fiat currency. Bitcoin right now is backed by the computational power of its network (as far as I understand), but as we all know technology doubles in power every year or so. So let's say that the banks, together with the FED and governments get pissed off and decide to launch their own cryptocurrency. They definitely have the money and power to start their own network with more computational power and completely shadow Bitcoin. If shit really hits the fan they can just use NSA datacenters to back the new cryptodollar lol
Anyway, the value of Bitcoin right now is very speculative, everyone is basically expecting major financial institutions to adopt Bitcoin at some point but that may never happen due to the impossibility of regulating them (remember, their power is derived from being able to come up with and destroy regulations as they please). A cryptodollar becoming the norm seems more likely to me than major markets adopting bitcoin as a standard.
My point is, I think it's too early to go "all in" on Bitcoin (unless you have a lot of money to spare), nobody knows where the hell this thing is going. It might be a good idea to buy some "just in case", but don't call that an investment, it's a bet at most.
