So, got the first migraine I've had in 4 weeks. It was nice to have a pretty long break and I felt like this was gonna be a mild one. Unfortunately, it wasn't and after 3 hours or so I was struggling like a motherfucker not to vomit like crazy. I get extremely nautious but I learned from a doctor that you don't actually have any physiological need to vomit, it's just that your body can get nautious from intense pain itself.

This time I tried sumatriptan for the first time! What delivery method do you use? Just a regular pill? My doctor adviced the nose spray or injection since, if I get nautious, my stomach won't digest the pill properly. Went for the nose spray this time. I can't say it had much effect, maybe I used it too late or was just unlucky. Or maybe the attack would've been way worse without it. Hmm.

How do you know when an attack is coming? I must be pretty bad at subtle cues because I only know when my vision becomes changed and by then I know 100% it's gonna happen (I lose my focus vision, so I can't read). I usually try to read the small print of a medicine package to double-check in case I'm unsure (if it's time... I can't see shit of what it says). This is maybe 30-45mins before the pain starts setting in (the pain creeps up on me slowly, becoming worse and worse).

What did those hippie pills contain? I've heard butterbur is used sometimes.

Hey man, sorry to hear about your new crisis

Each migraine is specific to each person so I can only talk about personal experience. I never checked if there's any scientific backing to this, but I read on a migraine book that migraine sufferers usually have more sensitive senses and are more easily disturbed by strong stimulus than others.

Since I've had so many crisis over the years I was able to notice similarities between them:

    - If I'm showering in the morning and the shampoo or any other product's smell bothers me, there's a 100% chance that I will have a migraine that day.

    - If I'm inexplicably stressed out/moody in the morning, there's a 50% chance.

    - If I get hungry early in the afternoon (usually 3 hours after lunch) I need to eat immediately or I'll have a migraine at night.

    - If my sleep schedule varies too much over too many days I usually have a crisis.

The way I deal with migraines is that every time I spot any of those signs and I'm 100% sure I'll have a crisis, I take a sumatriptan pill preventively. Once the migraine starts, the medicine takes a lot longer to work and even worse, sometimes one pill is not enough to control a full-blown crisis. Any doctor will tell you that it's better to take the medicine as early as you notice any signs than waiting too long and end up taking several pills when the pain doesn't go away. However, I should note that each person responds to specific medicines differently than others, so if sumaptriptan doesn't work for you definitely keep looking for another one!

Keep in mind that developing tolerance for these medicines is quite likely if you take them too frequently too. That happened to me 3 times in the past and it's a bitch because when that happens you have to look for something else. Fun fact: I later discovered that those medicines are so toxic that they have been banned in the US and Europe for the past 20 years and are only available in Latin America and Asia - thanks big pharma for the consideration

However, since I started following FMPONE's advice, migraine outbursts are pretty much a thing of the past. Back 3 years ago a sumatriptan box (with 9 pills) would last 2 months at most, usually less than that. Fast forward to today and I still have two pills from the box I got in early february - I also haven't had any outbursts during this time and I only took sumatriptan preventively on the days I noticed onset signs.

I only tried the [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/GL8pM8b.gif] natural medicine [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/GL8pM8b.gif] once during an actual crisis and it went away almost instantly surprisingly - however I must point out that it wasn't a bad crisis and the efficacy highly depends on the "medicinal value" of what you get as there are several different types for different uses - some won't do anything for migraines/pain for example. Definitely read about the different types if you are willing to try it, it literally takes 2 minutes on google to find out which type is best for migraine

Testing out the new Distance Field AO, getting pretty close to where I want mood-wise with this scene! I'm in love with this new AO, it's perfect for what I want and looks waaay beter than lightmaps. Epic did a kickass job with this, this shit is amazine  [Blocked Image: http://thiagoklafke.com/futuresampa/wip01/sampa_wip08.jpg]

Looks awesome man. I think you should go back more closely to your first blockout screenshot. That kinda works as a small park and also has a better composition. You can get away without making cars or anything to bring the streets to life. Maybe put concrete instead of asphalt. That would save you a lot of work.

This is a fucking great idea

I'll research some way to add rain in Unreal 4, if it's easy I'll totally do it

I dont know why but I could totally imagine kicking some hyperion asses on that map.

    Looks really good so far.

Is it going to be a full level?^^

I wish I could make a full level, but working on urban scenes is waaay too much work You can tell I totally underestimated the amount of work by my original blockout (this is still what I'm intending for the final level composition-wise):

    That's really inspirational man!

Only super obvious crit for me is the slight blue tint to the line in the middle of the street, I'd rather it were desaturated. Could use some other debris in the streets as well, I know it's WIP, but you gottttttta add a sick futuristic lambo!

Yeah I'm still unsure about what do with the sidewalks/streets. I spent way too much time sculpting these modular pieces so I really want to use them, but I think they are restricting me way too much. I also feel they should be cleaner and more scifi now, maybe with holographic crossing signs and shit like that. My latest thought is to model the entire streets and sidewalks in Max and break them up into smaller pieces for lightmaps, this way I have more freedom to add the variations I want. But I have a soft deadline for this in about 2 or 3 weeks (visa renewal coming up ) so I'll have to prioritize things as I go. I might still keep working on the scene after the soft deadline, I'll see

Here's a quick list of stuff that I still plan to make:

    - 4 unique storefronts

    - 1 hero building for the corner

    - Some backdrop buildings (already made a nice trimsheet for these)

    - 2 or 3 modular building sets

    - Shop signs, banners, LED displays etc

    - Small props such as awnings, trash cans, vending machines and what not (will keep these super simple)

    - Road work

Finally got back to working on this scene Made a few new buildings and pieces, right now I'm just laying the base work for the fluff which will come next I also started working on a hero building for the main corner which will be the focal point of the scene. The layout will probably change a bit too, this is more of a quick mock up with the pieces I got so far to see how well they fit together. Also, it's my first test with lightmass, really surprised how smooth it looks! [Blocked Image: http://thiagoklafke.com/futuresampa/wip01/sampa_wip07.jpg]

If one compares several of the nations involved in this insanity with the pillars

listed in the article from the link above, it would appear that the entire planet

    is doomed.

As well, here is some food for thought. The un, using Latvian pilots has for the

last several years been spraying chemicals in the lower atomsphere ( a continuation

of the nazi weather modification programme). Carbon and other particulates account

for between 3 and 10 percent of the heating factor, whilst vapor ( ie. moisture in the

air) accounts for 90 percent of the thermal factor. The weather modification programme

that the un is running is in fact increasing the moisture in the air and raising the

global temps, which in turn is causing the polar ice melt to be so drastic. The benefactors

from this melt are US,Russia,England,Canada and several other nations. Russia recently

submitted claim to un for 12 million acres of arctic land. This means they stand to benefit

much more than any of the other nations involved. They also recently in beautiful Siberia

changed all the road signs to include English versions. Most of the English speaking countries

are in the west. So why would anyone spend such large sum of money changing road signs

for peoples that are out to get you? Makes NO sense! All of this madness reminds me of

the pick pocket. Distract you with the right hand whilst she lifts your man purse with the left.

Climate change is a very misleading term because the Earth's climate is ALWAYS changing, it's always either warming or cooling, there's no such thing as "stable global temperatures". Just keep this in mind because anyone can spin this issue in any direction they want

From the little I know about this conflict, it all points out to be economic battle between two superpowers. On one hand the US wants a slice of the pie supplying energy to europe (through the middle east) because it's just a matter of time until the petrodollar collapses, and of course Russia won't allow that since their economic superiority depends on Europe being dependent on their gas. The US tried to resolve the Syria gas pipes situation with a war which was prevented by the threat of a direct confrontation with Russia (even though the media says it's because of the people and social media, or because Putin is a peace loving nice guy - yeah right), and in exchange for stepping on their toes, NATO stirs shit up in Ukraine, which ultimately lead to this airplane being shot down.

This is a situation that will drag on for a very long time, but I doubt it will ever turn into a full blown military combat between the West and Russia. The cold war was never over and won't be anytime soon. As long as human leaders keep focusing on the domination of each other we will have to live with proxy/covert wars breaking out all the time

Man Minos you are falling hard for Whataboutism there :/ Better to understand the propaganda then to search the truth in the middle between RT and Fox News.

RT is a tabloid and should be seen that way, it's pretty easy to spot when they are trying to spin stories towards the Russian side and only a fool falls for that shit. I'm not defending them or anything, but they do report on some topics that other media channels don't, even if superficially. And as I said Abby Martin is a really good journalist. If you browse through her videos you might think she's anti-american but imo it's quite the opposite. She just tends to focus on topics that the american media usually under reports (or do not even report at all in some instances) and which indeed need more attention. She has criticized RT live quite a few times.

To be honest I'm way past following news these days, 99,9% of the stuff they report won't affect my life directly anyway (like this plane crash for example).

  • Dahell is happening in Kiev

RT gets a load of bad rep for being Russia biased, but that's a "good" thing if you ask me. Since their propaganda is completely opposite from the american side propaganda, you can get a better idea of what's really going and make up your own mind considering that the truth usually falls in the middle.

Anyway, Abby Martin is awesome and no US channel would ever give her so much freedom: https://www.youtube.com/user/breakingtheset
