Yeah totally
I kinda see this as more of a crossroads between two roads, a place with some vendors to stock up and sell your junk before the next big town ![]()

Just trying some ideas for a fictional MMO that takes place in a distant world, where civilization is being rebuilt by space warriors.
This is a general store that can be found throughout the game's world. All stores follow the same design, making it easier for players to spot them (kind of like the Market and Centers in Pokemon).
And also to cut down on production time [Blocked Image: http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/smile.gif]

Seems like the best deal possible for Notch. Shit imagine walking away with 2billion from the only "proper" game you ever made and never have to worry about money anymore in your life? Because let's be frank, it's pretty much impossible for Mojang to come up with something else that comes even close to Minecraft's popularity.
Minecraft will be to Microsoft what Pokemon is to Nintendo... I hope MS is as clever as Nintendo when it comes to taking care of the franchise though

Really loving the game so far. (Still Level 6) I'm curious to see what the end game is going to be like though.

I like the trailer because it's supposed to be a representation of what playing the game might feel like, instead of an epic cinematic with lots of lore and punch lines. It's cheesy because games are cheesy and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Look at games like Duke 3D and Quake 3, cheesefests but fun as hell

It was a pretty bold move to make a "game-like" trailer in a world where every AAA game wants to hide the fact that they are just games, disguising themselves as "interactive epic experiences that are bigger than Hollywood" to attract non-gamers. Those kind of games do a bit of a disservice to our medium imo, instead of trying to be a shadow of Hollywood we need to embrace the fact that we are the games industry, which as the name implies, makes games. Destiny at least seems to have gotten that, that's why I'm genuinely interested in the game.

I don't know how it works for you at your place Corwin but have you tried splitting the days with your wife so you can hole up at the PC some days? I had a similar situation with my wife where every other weekend we would have divergent opinions on what to do and the solution was to split the weekend evenly (each one decides what to do on their day). It's been working out pretty well as we can spend quality time together one day and I can use the other day for games/resting/work if I feel like.
