That looks absolutely amazine ![]()
Are you using custom lighting solution? I don't remember Q3 maps' lighting looking that good.
I'd work a bit more on the floors though. They are all flat and boring at the moment. Add some trims and height variations and this map is pure win ![]()
Quote from Rick_DHave they even mentioned the alien part? That is such a huge undertaking I don't see them finishing their remake in the next few years at least. By which time Source engine will be almost 10 years old. That's the main beef in my mind with their game. Also:

What the hell is up with that wall with the door. Looks like concrete but I guess it's supposed to be metal because of the capsule-shaped door hole.
Looks like they get carried away and add shapes and textures in just for the fuck of it.
Abstract level design ftw!
It's not like Black Mesa is meant to be realistic at all imo. I'm ok with stuff like that as long as they look good (which is the case here)
That's a really competent diffuse map, digging it! I would add more wear and grunge to the bumper though, it looks a bit too clean compared to the rest of the vehicle. The inside on the other hand looks a bit too dirty and uninspired (everything seems made out of concrete). You could give it a bit more personality by adding decals and a little bit of story.
Some cool pics I found:

Hope that helps, keep it up!
Are you guys serious? Did you even play the demo?
st0lve - Skate 2 came out january 2009, this is coming out one year and half after it. The core mechanic was already pretty good in skate 2, so why try to fix something that isn't broken? Did you really expect they would redo all animations and stuff? Maybe for a next gen game but not for this gen, doesn't make much sense tbh.

Demo is out, anyone played it? I was honestly blown away, there are so many tiny improvements that make this game a lot more fun than Skate 2. I also loved the new hardcore mode, it feels so close to real skateboarding that it makes me wanna go out and start skateboarding again
What i love most about this game is that the core mechanics are so good that sometimes I just forget about the objectives and spend hours just freeskating and trying new tricks.
The graphics look really really good too, kind of reminds me of Mirrors Edge (perhaps they are the using the same lightmapping solution? cant tell):
Quote from arhurtThose are really cool!I also think the debries are a little off, looks too smooth and unnatural.
I'm calling this little project done.

I'm not entirely happy with the vegetation, but the models against a black background where looking kinda silly... maybe someday I'll have a proper scene for a dinossaur head.
Dude that turned out really cool!
But... take your time and model a proper background (looks a bit cheap now), it will make a huge difference I think!
What is art, you ask? It must be definition day.
But won’t it be easier to define art by what it ISN’T? Perhaps. Actually, probably.
So here’s my take:
1. Art isn’t the thing you hang on your wall to match your sofa.
2. Art isn’t the thing you hang on your wall, that you are sure your friends will approve of because they all have a copy hanging on their walls.
3. And on that note, art isn’t a copy or reproduction of an original piece of art.
4. Art isn’t something featuring the year’s top five “decorator colors”
5. Art isn’t something you made because you think somebody will buy it.
I wish I had a list of inspirational quotes from great artists of the past regarding art. We can see that they knew what it was, because of what they left behind: ART.
And THAT makes me think of the time I saw Van Gogh’s Starry Night at the Art Institute in Chicago.
The place was packed with other people all trying to see the paintings as well. You were supposed to be polite, look at the painting, and move on. . . nope. I was rude and I stopped. For a long time I stopped, because the painting required me to look at it for a long time.
That’s art. It makes your eyes not want to leave. It makes you not want to leave.
But realistically, it doesn’t have to be Starry Night, or Luncheon Of The Boating Party, or Young Girl Writing to be art. Even you or I can make something that is truly “art.”
All it needs is to have at least a smidgeon of something that all three of those paintings have—it has to be INTERESTING.
Maybe it matches your sofa, too. That’s OK. If it’s interesting then you can call it art. Your eyes want to look because it’s interesting, not because it matches your sofa.
And maybe it does contain all five of the current year’s top decorator colors—but forget that, if it’s so interesting that you want to look at it all the time, then it’s art.
OK, and one more thing. . . besides being interesting, “art” also has to be real.
There are two kinds of real—there’s “real” as in honest-created-from-the-heart-real AND there’s “real” as in original, not-a-copy, not-a-reproduction.
A poster of Starry Night I can leave. It may be interesting, but it’s just a poster. Starry Night, the original, made me want to stay.
And look some more.
Now that’s art.
There we go again ![]()

Quote from TaylorOkay, so I went into this game pretty annoyed, but it didn't take long for me to start loving it again. I just finished it after playing it way too much over a few days...
Edit
I guess , to do this in one play-through you needed to be max level in ME1, thus starting at level 5 in ME2.
You can start a new playthrough with the same character
Very nice luka!! It's great to see how focused and how serious you are about this. I remember a few years ago when you purchased your guitar and was still learning everything. Very inspiring stuff.
As for the album art, I'm not sure if it's final or not, but I'd work on it a bit more. The name of your band is sort of hidden in the bottom... if I didn't know you I wouldn't be sure if the band is called long story short or what mattered the most. Also get rid of the gradients! Plain solid colors ftw.
A great cover can really sell your stuff, so watch out for that!
Keep it up man, best of luck!
Quote from Seldoon182Display MoreHey folks!I planed to go in London with a friend of mine this weekend to meet fresh chick and chit chat with the ppl from there. I would really enjoy my trip and that's why I need your help. I want tips and advises, where to go to meet great ppl. Is London the best city to meet young ppl or another city, with lots of students enjoying to get drunk and those kind of stuff, would be advised (in Southern England of course)? So many question that some of you might help.
First of hows about the matter of transport!? Should we travel with our own car by the Ferry? Should we travel by train with the Eurostar and the Underground? Plane is too way expensive though.
Then were to go and what to do the afternoon? Place to visit (except Helder' sister), where to sleep? Hostel? Youth Hostel (If yes which ones)? Dux's flat?
Should we rent a car to visit else where?
At last have you some address of cool bar, pub and also restaurant or cool thing we really need to visit and such? We're looking for cheap place of course coz we do want to try the most as possible!
As u might understood I'm looking for a quite cool trip, looking for fun, meeting and want to get drunk all night long coz I'm such as Reef addicted.
Ps: If some Mapcorian around London want to touch my big breast that's now or never!
lol I'd never crash on dux's place, not a good idea I think (he's kinda freaky, listens to linkin park and shit)
