Yeah, was watching that video and the very first announcement one as well the other day, a real shame that they cut that level. The bit around 10:50 is especially awesome. Even if the final game has a lot of areas that feel like MP arenas, then nothing compares with what's shown in that video. Wouldn't surprise me that there's technical reasons behind it not making it, consoles not being able to handle it n such.

Anyway, I was kinda waiting for that level while playing the game, so it was a tad disappointing that it didn't make it.

Yeah I was trying to picture an xbox 360 handling that area and there is just no way.

    interesting read

In no way is that an interesting read. I could point out all the details about how retarded this is, but its really not worth the time. Curse you for giving him a page view.

When the skinny men of MapCore unite to talk about how obesitas isn't real and isn't worth talking about, especially in the game industry, you're all sending a message to other MapCore community members -- don't post, don't participate, your feelings aren't valid.

I think that's okay in EOT because that's the special space for it; I avoid EOT and I'm fine with it.

But if you do it out here, in public, keep in mind that people are going to see this, and you're making someone like me feel less welcome here. What, so I'm going to have to start avoiding the "Gaming Discussion" forums too? I wonder how the fat guys of MapCore feel?

I'm not saying "censor" your opinions; feel as skinny as you want. But just know that there's a chilling effect on others you're intimidating with that attitude. A consequence. And really, you end up looking tactless.

Don't worry, no one is going to speak-up and complain because they feel intimidated. They'll just leave.

I guess you missed the point. You are just repeating the same thing you posted earlier in the thread. I think you feel more threatened by the fact that you backed a person who you are now seeing has no validity. I think it's pretty sad that you must avoid anywhere or anyone that disagrees with you. I guess if you want to live in a box with your opinions echoing all around you, that's your prerogative.

I have to say though, that your sentence about how no one else that agrees with you will speak up because my text is so intimidating, is some serious bullshit. I think its hilariously ironic that you would label all those people to be exactly like you (I guess that calls back to the echo chamber). It's also just covering yourself if no one else chimes in with your same point of view.

    This thread is the plague

In theory, yes, but everyone I know with the game has been losing their saves at the moment. To not allow a local save is just disgraceful.

It just blows my mind that people would pay $60 (or $80 for "deluxe) for a game that you can lose all progress in at the loss of an internet connection.

If you've bought the game then of course, just torrent it and play it that way. Totally fine imo.

But I hate it when people think they're suddenly entitled to pirate it (without buying), if you don't support the game then just let it go.

I'm not gonna defend always online DRM though, it's pretty stupid but from what I've read it's just the way the whole social aspect of the game is designed, and you can't get around the servers for that (+ some of the simulation is server side apparently?). A bit of a dodgy design choice but with their focus on the mainstream market I see what they chose to do it.

So I have to be their customer and then either be punished by their DRM or have to go and risk torrenting software in order to avoid that punishment? This is not okay.

So I decided to give Mass Effect a go after years of putting it off. I don't think I'm going to last much longer.

My first impression was great, I thought the graphics were spectacular considering the game's age and I was enjoying the Deus Ex-like dialogue stuff going on. However after landing for the first mission and experiencing the actual gameplay I'm really, really not feeling it. I guess the game's age is a contributing factor, but also this just generally leans a bit too far towards the 'RPG' side of things for me. Too much worrying about points, party members, stats, pick-ups, and generally everything I don't really like.

It also likely doesn't help that I just finished 30+ hours of incredible Deus Ex: HR, with its ultra-refined gameplay that is more or less the best I've experienced this generation. In comparison Mass Effect actually feels quite primitive and even the environment detail is leaving me wanting after HR's ultra-detailed areas. Maybe it'll improve, but usually if I'm not feeling receptive towards a game at this point it doesn't get much better with time. It'll be a shame if I can't enjoy this as I pre-emptively bought the sequel too. Maybe Dishonored will have to be my next buy.

Fucking Deus Ex, man. That game was so good almost everything seems kind of crappy now.

ME1 is certainly clunky, but the story elements are great. I recommend to everyone to just play 1 as a run and gun soldier - or if you have patience, infiltrator Everything that bothers you about ME1 is beautifully revisited in ME2. I'm surprised with the dialog complaints. I've played many a game in my day and I've never been connected to characters like I was in the Mass Effect universe.

On a side note, Dishonored seems like a fantastically unfinished game. All the right stuff is there, but its just short and just ends. It left me wanting a lot more, anyway, I'd wait for a steam sale.
