Good point too, I did think a bit about that actually.. Might be able to add something like that as normal mapped decals.. But I'm not sure it would work that well. Also I'm not sure if the engine supports that yet

I did however change the sand now so it's more scooped up at one side of the building going down on the other. Images are updated too btw.

damn you're right.. I should have the sand kinda crawl up around the building more. Totally slipped my mind Good crit. I think It will look less out of place when I've come a bit further with the textures as well hopefully.

Yeah the sand is hand painted, very simple.

Well.. Doesn't really qualify as a level, but I thought I'd post it here anyway

Very WIP, lots of texture work to be done AND adding a lot of little geometry pieces and I'm gonna figure out a good way to have some smaller pebbles and stuff without it looking too weird with the sand dunes. Also got some ideas for the sky with a big moon or planet in there. But only if I can get it to look right... My tests so far has been a bit meh because I don't wanna use a huge sky texture for just that reason... Can probably blend in something though

This is some sort of surface research facility where they collect data from the planet's surface and running some tests on the atmosphere etc.

Yeah read this on a Swedish site, was an interesting read.

Don't really wanna comment on it, there are always a lot of circumstances and more than one side to it.

I choose to remember the awesomely fun times I had at Grin (even though there was a lot of whining going on at the time as always ). Learned so much during my time there and had the opportunity to work with an amazing team both at work and outside.

Solid stuff! Like that you took the time to write what your contributions in each shot are.

Seems like an easy to browse site too, only thing I could think of was that the images loaded a bit slow for me... But that's more likely to be a problem with my connection speed

    Work looks great!

They should teach that in games schools.

This happened to me a lot at GRIN. Awkward body contact ftw.

Lolz. I bet it was during a certain time period...

Absolutely awesome to do this Mino ! I haven't read through the whole thing, but just kinda quickly browsed through and read some of it so far, but you seem to bring up some very valid points and you're presenting your workflow really, really well!

Woah, congrats!! Well deserved, you've been working a lot on your portfolio so I'm happy to see it payed off (not that I ever doubted it would though )

Ask a lot of questions. Just don't tap people's shoulders while they're listening to music, instead go pitter-patter bananas on their desk (GENTLY) until they notice you. Also don't give people back rubs while you're asking questions (or when you don't).

Seems like they are all untextured highpolies though, so wireframes or tri/vertex-counts are irrelevant really. With that said, you'd probably do well to actually take those models all the way to a lowpoly with textures.

    Nice job on the levels.
