Your girlfriend is missing, your boat has been destroyed and you are trapped on a mysterious island hiding a dark secret.
I could swear I've played that one before!

No, seriously: looks very good. Glad that you posted the alternate walkthrough. The first one looks almost a little too perfect, you know what I mean?

god sentura, don't get me wrong, i think you are a decent guy and i have nothing against you personally so don't take this the wrong way.but you have such a talent for spouting the most bitter and negative diseased shit at any given opportunity.
you don't have a point at all. some indie developers are making a game that isn't another BLOPS or brownanblooman shooter and people are excited by it because it's something a little bit interesting that people can enjoy. a fresh coat of paint on something that is vaguely familiar that perhaps harkens abck to the days when they would play 3d platformers on the PS1 with their friends, and you want to come and shit all over that because people have some positive things to say about it.
if you don't like it then say it. but to go on this tirade of cancerous abuse whilst doing seemingly nothing to offer any solution, or to offer any ideas that you think would improve this industry that you apparently hate so much is just too much.
it's fun to have you around as a kind of bitter ogre we can wheel out when it's a slow news day is good fun, but you either need to crack your heart of stone or we need to get a larger platform for your opinions because i think you could piss off a lot more people and we could have a lot more fun watching it.
If there was a "Frie seal of quality" - you would have just earned it, Rick.

Before watching the gameplay video, I didn't think the world needed another zombie game, but the tropical island/vacation spot setting, open world gameplay and combat looks fun. I like that you are not running away from point A to B for a change, but you and the other characters need to build a base. Beautiful enviroments, too...

Not sure what passage you are pointing me to there. This one?
Quoteeven if it was created by someone else, i'm sure it had to be greenlighted somewhere higher to be put out.
I don't even care anymore...

So you're against gaming journalists then? I might be mistaken, but even on the example at hand, I believe the video was captured by Stephen Totillo of Kotaku - not the developers.

i think furyo may have had the only valid counter argument, though i doubt these guys are out to score the big bucks with this.
See, this is exactly why it baffles me that you rage about hype in this thread. So you compared Journey to the cinematic trailer of Dead Island then, well tha't s a completely different story then...
Thatgamecompany is anything but a marketing-driven corporation. The only "marketing" I've seen done by them is in fact PR, by letting journalists play the game and let them talk about their experience. If you want to call them pretentious, for not being creative/innovative enough in their indie space, because you believe they use elements from previously released games - fair enough. On the other hand you don't seem to really know enough about the gameplay do you? Point is, complaining about hype trains in the gaming industry at the example of an indie title like this one is ludicrous. -
I've been seriously trying to wrap my head around your train of thought, Sentura, but when you started comparing Journey to Dead Island, I couldn't help but start to believe that you're taking the piss.

Looking forward to this one!

+10 & a Pint of Beer for these devs
I'm torn about this one. It looks like a bunch of fratboys wrote the design for this game. I could totally see myself enjoying to play it with a couple of mates one or two evenings, trying the ridiculous vehicles and weapons and having a laugh (and a few beers). But I'm afraid these jokes are going to run dry really fast and if I ever catch myself playing entire nights of "slap the NPCs with the pink giant dildo" by myself, I will seriously begin to question my lifestyle. Maybe I'm just not enough informed about the game though and the missions are really fun, too.. *shrug*

Well ok, replace "crytek" with "EA" in my post then

Not so fast: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2 ... from-steam
Quote"It's unfortunate that Steam has removed Crysis 2 from their service. This was not an EA decision or the result of any action by EA," reads a statement made to GamesIndustry.biz."Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service - many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam."

Sexy Back research is kinda cool
Skyrats is cool as well, but it lacks the epicness that the demo promised. It felt very "Zelda: Ocarina of time" to me, so maybe having a subtitle, like a chapter in a series, would add to that?Skyrats: attack of the random dungeons for example =P
A subtitle is certainly an option and I'll eventually pick your brains about it as well but we need to make sure we get the main title right first!
