Miraculously, Halo 4 doesn't seem to have it's own thread yet.

I cannot comment on his decision-making in the game design process (anybody here who actually used to work with him at Epic?) but he surely knows how to promote his (and his team's) creations. They are making mass-market products at Epic and he knows how to pitch your game to a mass-market audience. The studio/team benefitted by this alone tremendously.

i have to be honest i don't really see any siege in those shots - whereas all the other remakes are instantly recognisable

I mean, when I look hard I can see what it is, but I think it's just the complete setting change that does that.

If you keep the gameplay exactly the same, make it easy on the eyes, but change the looks to the point where I don't recognize the original level anymore, then you have done everything right in my book. Now if that is the case I'm not sure because it's been too damn long since I played cs_siege

As much as I like the "Like this" button I'd also appreciate if the posts were more compact. I know it has been noted down, I just wanted to emphasize this! Maybe there is a way to keep it and still shrink the posts e,g, by moving it?

A big thanks goes out from me as well to Lord Thrik for doing his magic. It will take some time for an old man like me to arrive in this faceboard 2.0 world, but I'm very excited!

I could totally see Cliffy becoming an executive at one of the big corporations e.g. brand evangelist for Microsoft, spearheading the release of the new xbox. Either that or he's going to found a social/mobile studio, because hey - there can never be enough of those, right?

Congrats! Seems like F2P and Porsche go well together! How many characters can a license plate have in California btw? 7, correct? What does yours say? NMBLB1T? GAMEDEV? MAPCORE?

The Cabin In The Woods - I had high expectations which were not completely met but it is a pretty good flick with some awesome ideas. Certainly much better than your standard horror/teenie hack'n slash movie.

Was an absolute nightmare having to change all my passwords, lock down my emails, etc — when I started thinking about it, my phone was a portal to a crazy amount of personal data and accounts. They could even have deleted MapCore if they'd been fast enough!

Yup, luckily realized that too before anyone could steal mine. Having to enter a PIN each time you pick up your phone is slightly inconvenient but absolutely required when you've got access to all your mail accounts on your phone.

On the topic of costs (disclaimer: didn't verify this myself): http://i.imgur.com/ZwxWq.png

Why I believe the Wii U is going to fail or only achieve "moderate success": they are re-entering the red ocean that they had left during the Wii era, while bringing not enough new or better to the already crowded space. The TVii is a complete reverse on their cheap anti-home-entertainment-strategy for the Wii. Why is Nintendo doing this? After disrupting the market, maybe they think they can convert their Wii customer base into (mid-)core gamers and that's why they stick with the "Wii" branding. But I fear that the casual audience has moved on and rather plays on their mobile phones or tablets. And the hardcore gamers? Give me one reason why a hardcore gamer who already owns an XBOX360 or PS3 should leave their gaming communites behind and buy a Wii U.

I would love some super meaty RPG or open world action game (Borderlands 2???) with that tablet controller for an always on map or inventory screen or...something...

"Or something" is precisely the problem. Maybe some developer will come up with a genius idea to use that controller in a unique way. Right now it seems the Wii U versions don't bring enough new to the table in comparison to their 360/PS3 counterparts. And are you sure you want to keep switching between TV and the screen on the gamepad to look up your position on the map or access your inventory all the time? Getting rid of the split-screen in 2 player sessions is the biggest benefit I can see right now and that enables some interesting concepts for multiplayer games. But I don't see myself buying a Wii U anytime soon.
